oops- no not a good idea to name a pig after your nephew!0

Well, despite feeling like it HAD to be a pig, my owl penny bank is sitting where we can all see it and it is now officially our mortgage owl. We were trying to come up with good names, to no avail. So after a few groans from my husband I said,
'I know. I'm a hoot!' And that's what he's called. Ima Hoot. A bit lame but trust me. It's better than the 50 others we considered!
I broke our camera so can't submit a picture, but when I've got it fixed, I'll post a pic. He'll be filling up nicely by then I imagine. He already has some loose change we found in our pockets in him. And I saved £1.50 by walking instead of catching the bus, so that'll go in too. :jMay all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -

My gym was having a free lookaround day today and so i didn't have to pay for my session. that's £4.50 fed to my nameless pig this morning - and a load of coppers I gathered together last week as counters for a guides game i was running. He's got a really good rattle now!
What about BArtholomew, BArt, BAsil, BAxter, BAiley, BAcon (!) getting desperate now....lol :rotfl:Boots Card - £17.53, Nectar Points - £15.06 - *Saving for Chrimbo*2015 Savings Fund - £2575.000 -
Freddie the Fat Frog found on eBay for 99p last night and, according to the very nice message I've just received from the seller, will be posted to me on Friday.
Excellent :T

Just spent last couple of hours debating the name of our pig with DD. She kept coming up with female names, and "the Pig" is definitely a male........so now we have a "gay"
mortgage pig called Truffle. This is quite apt due to the pig/truffle sniffing thing, also I love truffle oil, OH hates the smell of the stuff, so can always threaten him that I will use the oil, unless he feeds Truffle. Now just have to get a sign made up.
Counted out and bagged all the loose change already saved in coppers in "the Pig", £23, into savings account tomorrow, ready to be transferred when we take out new mortgage. What couldn't be bagged has been put back into Truffle for the next count, whenever that might be. Also 40p for newspaper I didn't buy today, 8p lying on breakfast bar.
Poor Pig, 28 years old now, now getting a name and being gay all at once!
Anyway presenting Truffle (sorry am hopeless at taking piccies - and a special thanks to DD's friend Dafydd for letting me use his photobucket to do this).0 -
Why is being 28 and gay a problem? I find it fine, apart from occasional bits of homophobia
Sorry to complain in this board, which is fantastic, but innuendos on the basis on things being pink is unacceptable.mjh1977 Highest debt -18.5k (Dec 04) Current debt now below £10k for the first time in 4 years :j0 -

Trying to remain lighthearted here, since I really don't think any offence was meant in the post you are referring to. 28 is pretty old for a pig and I imagine a pig might be pretty surprised to be discovering new things about himself at that age.
This is a great thread. It'd be good to keep it wonderfully lighthearted.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -

Was only a wee piggy bank I was talking about. It is definitely not pink, and don't think that I ever said anything about that. Cannot find any mention of "pink" in any of my posts, until now - not my colour darling!
My piggy is at least 28 years and much loved - he is unlikely to mate due to being ceramic.
Sorry if anyone took my last post as homophobic - certainly not meant that way.0 -
