I made my pig too and I think that is why I love him so much :j Also means that I am less likley to take money from him as I would have to sacrifice him to get the money out:eek: .

Hi there. Ive only just recently found Martins site and im hooked. We normally have a Balvinie tin for change but its a bit boring and gets forgot, but im loving the pig idea instead. Aliasogo, im keeping my eyes peeled for a cute someone to put in our house.:A

Hi Carlsberg welcome - I'm a newbie too but everyone's been so lovely I'm getting rapidly hooked! I'm torn between wanting to buy a beautiful pig and wanting not to spend a penny! I currently have an old money tin with a print out of a comedy cartoon pig who has my mortgage tin rules written on his tummy just so there's no excuses!

Think it's going to take more than a little piggy to help me with my £205k mortgage but I'm thinking that every £1 I pay off now takes me a little closer to mortgage freedom at some far far away point!

I bought myself a lovely pig for my mortgage money - so that it was nice enough to sit by my computer (in the living room) and remind me every day that it was there - wanting to be fed!!!
So, by spending a little, it keeps me focussed as i wanted something that i would be happy to see everyday (and for others to see too!!!) If it was a pot in my bedroom, or something like that, i wouldnt put as much into him, as it wouldnt be so accessable.

Since I bought mine, I keep seeing pigs everywhere in all the charity shops and junk shops for £1 or £2!

My next job is to get a pig. Seen a couple on ebay and then think - but thats £3 - Icould be saving that towards my mortgage!

I have just joined the 'Mortgage free in Three' challenge and have dug out an old red chinese pig that belonged to my husbands grandmother. We have named him 'Lu Chu Jou' which is chinese for prosperity pig. I have anglisised this to 'Lucky Joy' and i am looking forward to feeding him

I wanted something with 'mortgage' on and couldn't find a terramundi. Went to the local charity shop and they didn't have any money boxes or piggy banks but I won't be able to get into these!
