it has given me plenty of opporunity to investigate the various ways of seat blocking to ensure or at least greatly increase ones chances of sitting in a row of empty seats. ;) ... And work on my advanced "building a bed out of three economy seats" technique. :p

lol at your theory of building a bed out of three economy seats!!
Would you care to disclose any info regarding your theory? I am rather intrigued!

Have flown twice now in Business Class and it's brilliant. From the time you reach the airport to the time you get off the plane. Never paid in full though, 1st time used my BA AMEX voucher for it and the second used points to upgrade and this is what I will be doing next time aswell, unless I can get enough points shopping at Tesco's and then get 2 free seats.

Thanks, I like the flyertalk forum, I've used it a bit for BMI related stuff. I can't quite work out which would be the best FF prog for me now all my BMI miles have gone. It is quite complicated when you get down to the particulars. I tend to do two long-haul flights a year and one short haul. These would be lesuire travel so I'd be paying for the cost myself. I guess most FF progs are aimed at people who are travelling much more than that. I am thinking of switching to BA or sticking with BMI.

The way I decide is to work out who flys my likely routes long haul and then see who else is in their alliance eg AA have BA and Iberia in their alliance for short haul and DL/NW have KLM & Air France-also if you are thinking of moving and have status check out the status matching threads on flyer talk.

    MOVING THREADS FOR BETTER RESPONSES

I saw this item on eBay and am obviously very sceptical, but they seem to have very good feedback. Anyone know what it says inside?

It doen't say 'airlines are constantly looking all the time at different ways to manage future demand for their travel classes so that they do not have to give upgrades away for nothing'

If you look at the feedback, most are low-feedback users...may or may not be legitimate (or - and I do not mean any offense by this - may not be particularly seasoned internet users)...several people mention that the info wasn't much more than they already knew...and many, many bits of feedback are pretty generic - mentioning that they received the item quickly and nothing more - nothing about the information itself...read the negative and neutral comments.

    • Great information about websites.
    • Very general and common sense information
It sounds to me from the feedback I've read that it's mostly a compilation of other websites which you could of course find for free. Whether it's worth having the information compiled for you initially or not is up to you...it seems there are a number of 'former airline employees' out there offering the same or similar at various sites for various amounts.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?
