    Firstly, ((Hugs)) Elle and Rhys!

Secondly... Mrs Tine... Are you around? I have a question about Paternity... I know women on Maternity leave acrue bank holidays and can tag them onto the end of their maternity leave... Does the same apply to paternity? If I have the baby this week... (pleeeeeeeeeeease let me have it this week) then hubby's paternity will include bank holiday monday... I assumed he would then get an extra off as it would be acrued... But his work have just told him he will get paid a full days pay for the bank holiday instead of paternity rates and will be expected in the first day back after 2 weeks... But that would mean he's only had 9 days paternity and 1 day full pay when he's entitled to 10 days paternity... Surely that's discrimination?

Nothing is actually stated on the government site about this that I can see so not sure where you'd stand on this. However if in doubt call Acas :)

I would have said what they are offering is actually pretty fair... The only slight part I can think to use to argue is that the paternity leave must be taken without any break and you could argue that unless the BH is counted as PL then it would "break" the 2 week period in half... I don't know if that would give him any decent stand point though...

    Hello everyone,
Hugs to Mrs Moc - i am sorry you are back in hosp.
Congratulations elle and hoping baby is doing well:beer:

Well bean is still hanging on in there - nearly 7 weeks now. Relationship with oh has deteriorated badly though so dont know what is going to happen there. As some of you know i wanted to wait untill 12 weeks before telling anyone and he initially agreed- within a few days he had told everyone in work so i was upset but listened to the advice you lovely ladies gave me that he was prob just a bit shocked and wanted someone to discuss his concerns with so i let it go and put my upset down to hormones:o

His nephew called a few days ago and he told him whilst i was in the room - as he was speaking a different language he thaught he could get away with it but i knew exactly what he said - he knew i knew and admitted it.

Then yesterday one of his sisters called and when he called her back i begged him not to tell her as we really dont get on and she is one of these ladies that make you feel terrible by saying "i never had any problems during my 5 pregnancies and my babies never cried" and the things she has said about me and oh to family abroad over the years is astonishingly horrible. Anyway he said "its my baby and i will do whatever i want" - i tried to point out that its my baby too i am the one actually trying to carry it and it might be an idea not to stress me out but he wasnt having any of it. I am now wondering what else he is going to decide will have to be done his way and am getting seriously worried:o We also found out that his brother is coming to visit in june and it will be the first time he has seen him in 25 years - obviously i said how excited i was but that i was abit concerned about the hosting and day trip side of the visit as if things go well i will be 12 weeks by then and i have no idea about how i will be feeling etc and obviously i want his bro to have a wonderful time. His response was i dont care how messy the house is when he comes and wheter there is food etc available for him - and you will do whatever he wants (day trip wise). Although i want him to have a good time - i certanily dont want to go on long day trips if it is hot and have to walk around for 8 hrs with needing loo etc  Its no point talking to him because i have tried and he just doesnt get it - according to him he works very hard all week and doesnt want any stress when he comes home (i am a stay at home housewife) he has also put a ban on s*x without asking me and was moaning last night when i got change that my boobs look terrible and the areolas (?) have got very dark. ??? Why he has changed since i got pregnant i dont know - he was such a sweetie before.

Anyway thanks for the chance to rant ladies i am sure it is just my hormones again:o

Labour vibes to all that need them:D

Can't they give him a day off in lieu for the bank holiday?

Yeah we were looking at that earlier... It's all very vague... He's going to ask again tomorrow when he's back in (cheeky sod took a day off today and used me as an excuse!) but failing that, if baby appears in the middle of this week he's just going to use a couple of days holiday and then start paternity from next Tuesday instead... Although I think he'll be wishing he hadn't wasted all his holiday come January when he's desperate for a couple of days off and he can't have any till April!

This is what we were expecting, and what we want... But his boss said no, just normal pay instead of paternity pay...

She was beautiful Mrs Moc. I hope she had a really special day, and I am sorry you weren't able to be there.

Good luck with the consultant tomorrow

To all ladies drinking RLT, you really should consider drinking it after to, may help get your tummy back and reduce bleeding. Worth reading this. X
