Still stuck on bed rest - but i dont care - just enjoying every hour of this pregnancy and seeing how we go:D
Got my scan 1st normal scan date - 19th June - so thats what we are aiming at. We didnt want to but we are having to look for baby names now coz i am welsh and oh is ethiopian we are learning names from different languages if you see what i mean for example Yusf Ieauan (dont ask me if their spelt right) - i saw one for rhino on the name pages for one of the ethiopian tribes in the south - think this must be an error of translation. Unfortunatley oh family is soo large most of the nice names are taken. I've got 7 months to sort it out so i should be ok - i am supposed to be picking the welsh onen and oh the ethiopian one but i am going to compile a long list of all the ethiopian ones i like so i dont get stuck with something i dont like - a bit sneaky i know:rolleyes::D0 -
Got sent up to assessment unit yesterday and was stuck there till 7pm waiting on bloods coming back. BP went down to just borderline high, but due to my history and that it was the first proper BP headache and a bad one, along with the 'starbursts', they wanted to keep me in.... I made a face....:rotfl: I had been seeing the imprint of the blood capillaries on my eyeballs when I blinked and that is the starburts they talk about, is it bad that I actually never knew that? I had been going on flashing lights which I had never had...or so I thought.
Anyway, urine was clear, bloods were taken but the concern was that my body may now be less tolerant to the symptoms after my last two pregnancies so my BP may be within safe limits but my body might be struggling. Bloods came back clear eventually and I was allowed to go home with mw doing a home visit today.
Oh and they got a good trace even though I'm only 27 weeks!
Everything back to normal today thoughweekly checks from now on, straight up if I get the starbursts and headache regardless if I feel ok, they will want to take bloods to check that everything is ok.
Had an improptu BBQ last night too :T Lazy day today, lounging watching TV, long bath, reading my book, bit housework. Staying out the sun though.
so... what have I missed?0 -

Oh, just heard from Mum.. it's NOT chicken pox *sigh*
It's a reaction to the penacillin (sp?) she's on for a cough. She's been on it for about two weeks already so why the reaction has just come up, they don't know, but it's definitely a reaction rash and not contagious. She's been told to take anti-histamines for a few days and stay away from us (not quite sure why!).
I was hoping she'd be able to take me out to B&Q this aft so I can choose tiles for the bathroom so Dad can get on. Didn't want to go with OH as we didn't both want to leave the hospital.. Grr.. wish I could drive!
excellent news!!! DS2 used to be fine with penicillin till he had a huge dose by IV for pneumonia. Was on the last day of his 5 day treatment. Strange how the body works at times. She will have been told to stay away 'just in case', basically so they can cover their own backs!
DH is whinging to go out, so best go!0 -
Just went to visit MIL this afternoon, and we put one of those clear plastic "under the bed" drawers out in a shady place in the garden, filled it with water, and let DS splash about in it like a mini-pool. He loved it. Gotta love a little portable pool. LOL Of course, now he's exhausted and fighting to stay awake until his bedtime! Bet he'll sleep well tonight - always does after water play!
I love this weather we're having! Might not feel so kindly towards it in a month, but for right now - love it!
Med allergies are funny - you can be taking a med regularly and suddenly develop an allergy to it. I did that as a child to a specific antibiotic that I was routinely given for kidney infections.MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0 -

I'm feeling guilty.
A friend's having a BBQ in the mountains and we cancelled our trip up there because there's a half hour walk to the house from the station. And another friend is having a picnic party in the park, and my beloved is just on the phone cancelling our presence at that, too. I'm feeling antisocial, it's going to rain and it's a long walk that I'm not allowed to do.
I rarely use being pregnant as an excuse to get out of things at work, but as a social tool it's utterly invaluable.
Instead I am going to eat my bar of minty chocolate, put on some warm socks over my sore ankles and stay home.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76
