School holiday prices anywhere are ridiculous
we tend to do sun holidays,or holidays using tesco deals
we have managed to get a good deal with CP's next easter, due to wales being on holiday a week before most of the UK
having one son in secondary I don't really like to take them out of school,so school holidays it is!
but would never pay the full price , they are extortionate !0 -
Thanks for this, I just found out this afternoon that Centreparcs are not doing the £65 midweek spa passes anymore so won't be booking the cheap break at Longleat next year at this rate, Waterside looks like a good alternative and we love the weymouth area , Could you tell me about the spa there, does it have a variety of steam rooms etc or is it solely treatments?
Hi, There is a sauna, steamroom, hydrotherapy pool, spa offers, variety of treatments, it looks lovely...The sauna and steamroom are included in the weekly price of the caravan..... the cost of the treatments are not expensive.... If you go, have a fab time0 -
It is difficult with the difference in age groups. Really you need somwhere where the teens can go off and find something to do. And where your mum won't find it too strenous.
How about somewhere like Llanberis in Wales. Reasonably priced hotels. The kids can go climbing Snowdon.
And you and your mum could do gentle strolls.
Just a thought.
I agree about Butlins being too strenuous. I took my mum there when she was about 68 and she found it too noisy. And not much for her to do when she didn't like playing bingo. My kids were much younger then so we were in the chalet early in the evenings.Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:

OP-When do your kids go back to school? Mine aren't back until Mon 7th Sept and the week before w/c 31st Aug we have booked a 4 night break for CP- whilst nowhere near as cheap as it can get in term-time it is a lot cheaper than the rest of the weeks in the school summer hols.
Rachie B- I'm always on the look-out for blips in the school holiday pattern to see if my area is out of sync with the rest. When are you off next year for Easter? I might look at that.0 -

The Spa at Waterside has been built recently at no expense spared! Have a look at their website under their Spa section to see for yourself.0
