I have recently changed my ISP to Sky (their mid package) which offers speeds up to 8 meg. I accept that with line restrictions etc that you will not always get the maximum speed.
In fact the checks on my line in Carrickfergus suggest that i should get at least 3meg which I would be delighted with if I ever got that speed.
Unfortunately I am only getting 1.3 meg at best and would ask if you could run a test and post your results so we can see what service is best value for money:-
Maybe an admininstrator could post a link for a broadband speed check test here as I do not have the privilege. The one I used was www broadbandspeedchecker co uk

Yes that is my speed in Co.Down, I have just changed to Madasafish as Pipex were to upgrade my speed but couldn't
To be honest they are working on trying to get the max speed at the moment. My exchange is not LLU or I would have gone for Sky.
£9.65 a month for the first six months and £14.65 thereafter is the deal I am on BUT if you are into downloading movies etc. there is a 5GB pm allowance and after that you will be charged.Dave0 -

Could I ask if posters could state the town/area they are based near to give an indication as some of the postcodes cover large areas?I used to be indecisive, but now I am not quite sure...........:undecided0
