Unable to pay a speeding fine, what to do?

I have a £60 speeding fine which is due to be paid next week, is it possible to request more time since I don't get paid for another two weeks or so?

Thanks...

You had better scrape together the money somehow. If you don't pay it the next step will be court and then the fine will be around £150 or more.

Alternatively leave it until last moment and send them a post dated cheque and a covering letter explaining why might just work. Or call and ask them but if they say no you then are in a pickle

Try asking on the speeding ticket sub board those guys might know the rules better.

Is it a fine or fixed penalty notice?

If it's a fixed penalty notice and you don't pay it best do some overtime as it goes up.

You can easily afford the road tax, insurance, and petrol when you need to, lol.

I didn't think people would flame so much on this forum. =/

Too late not to speed as i've been caught.

I'm skint this month, otherwise it would be paid, just like tax, insurance, juice etc.

    The replies aren't very helpful.

But thank you to those who actually gave real suggestions.

Has anyone else got any more ideas?

That's what I was thinking. I'm sure you get 28 days to pay after they have confirmed who the driver is.

I wouldn't even try to get more time. The fine receiver people are complete jobsworths (I have my own tale of woe with those guys).
If it isn't paid by the date specified, you are off to Court.

You could perhaps consider selling something to pay the fine/penalty.

Please don't say you have nothing to sell... how about the car?
