DH works full time..I dont enjoy travel (ok so that classes me as officially odd). I love art but it can be a solitary pursuit although i do have some friend in that area of my life.
We are planning a garden revamp That we will do together.but I need something that is all about me!So I can bore him with tales of my day for a change!
I have registered with do it .org Thanks for the link there Flutterby!
I dont really need to earn money but I guess it would be a bonus.I think I should do some volunteering first as my CV is 20 yrs out of date! Im just a bit afraid of the big void that is looming in my life :)

    see up there ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
MIL hadn't had any work for 25 years - I taught her how to get around a PC and her courses did the rest. She's now earning £14K a year working in a DWP call centre.
We get bored stiff with her tales of the new systems she learnt but it's better than 'Have u taxed ur car yet?!' - he's 26!!!!

OHHHH Guys! I'm becoming more and more aware that what I'm afraid of is that my excuse for not having a paid job for all these has gone! And while I said I dont really need to work for the money, trips to London and so on would be seen as a bit of a self indulgent luxury.Id rather keep my £ to visit my fledglings.
Ive also got an eldely dog and 2 cats at home and Id hate to leave them alone all day.It just wouldnt be fair. Part time I could do though.
i registered for a few charity shop placements but the listings were way out of date so I dont know if the opportunites are still there. But at least I have done something about it.
I have become very controlling/interfering over the years. Im more of a Mumager at times! ( I laughed at the car tax line,)That coul have been me speaking!

What you have been good at is running a home , kids etc -- why not try volunteering with Home-start? They put volunteers in to families with little ones who need a hand

or maybe a domestic help/carer for an elderly or disabled person - a few hours a day, cleaning, taking them shopping, etc.
Am sure Help the Aged or a similar charity would do this or even Meals on Wheels

Have you considered volunteering to help the elderly and/or housebound? I think there's a huge need for people to do the shopping, visit for a chat etc. Or visiting lonely hospital patients?
