Right ive sent my designer to DaisyClaire, who charges I think £20, you tell her what you want, what colour and she sends over 5-6 designs, you choose and give her your thoughts and she brings you what you want. Ive had 2 great logos off her and are always happy.
I have just emailed her. Thank you ukbill.0 -
When it's all done can you post it in this thread? I just want to see how much better it'll be than that £120,000 police logo0

Depending on what your business is you may be able to offer a designer your services in return for their design work.0

Well never mind. I was just making a point that you should not overlook these things. In answer to your question yes I do make my living from design, today I closed a 35k deal so no I am not touting for your £50 - bu thanks
Good luck with it though and keep us posted and yes you are right about the Police logo!0 -
How much did we pay for that lovely (
) 2012 London Olympics logo?

Show us a logo worth 35k and I will eat my words.....
actually show us a logo worth £1000.
The word 'extortion' springs to mind.0 -
First off i'm not advertising my services.
I just thought i would offer my view on pricing. I have designed logos (when employed by a design company) from £50 to £900. The difference in pricing is usually practical things.
The 1st is time spent. The cheaper end of the scale would be based on a strong idea from the customer, combined with current examples (eg their website). Often it would be updating an old logo etc.
The other end of the scale would be based on some vague idea or vision (Customer: "we want a logo that suggests fluidity and innovation, yet dependability and tradition in the delivery of our waste disposal services" Designer: "OK, do you have anything in mind? Any text or company slogan? have you seen anything you like in our portfolio?" Customer: "well your the designer") This obviously takes much longer as your are basically trying to visualize someones mental image with little help.
The 2nd is (as mentioned) what the logo will be used for. If its needed for a website, business cards and letter head, its pretty cheap as minimal modification is needed.
If it will be used for all the above, plus Bill boards, T-shirts, is needed in full colour, greyscale and selected Pantones for cheaper leaflets etc, and has numerous variants for different markets, its going to cost more.
Anyway, in summary, the type of design most of the people on this thread appear to after, i wouldnt expect to pay more than a couple of hundred quid, (£50 will probably be fine for some) but there are valid reasons for charging a few thousand. Though after a few thousand, you are paying for presumed artistic value, and im not going to go into that!!0 -

It was a website not a logo but all the same this is getting boring. good luck anyways0 -
have a browse around some business forums, there are usually designers offering logos for free or cheaper than normal prices. ukbusinessforums, a1buinessforums etc etc... I managed to get a freebie. The business forums seem to be the first place designers hit when they are starting out and offer free or cheap work just to generate some interest in their talents. I have managed to get 2 logos done in this way for free0
