Help with my back!!

Hi all,
I have recently had an operation to screw 6 bolts into my spine and I am soon to become a dad for the first time. I have some money saved up, around £2500, and am looking to buy a car that has raised rear seats so I don't have to keep bending down to put the little un' in the car. Ideally I would like something like a freelander which is at a perfect height but I know that I would struggle to get one for this amount of money. I have been advised to choose a Japanese MPV like Toyota, Mazda or Honda. Can anyone recommend a car between 8-10 years old that will give me a few years reliable motoring until I can afford something a bit newer.
any help and advice would be greatly appreciated!!
thanks
Chris

In my opinion cars of that age and within your budget, it may be a case of you pays your money and you take a chance.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
If I was in your position, I would go for a Renault Scenic 1.4 or 1.6, there
are lot's to be found under your budget , parts are easily aval; also they
are strong reliable car.. Hope this helps Chris0 -

I am not sure if the Zafira goes back that far but I have one because of back and hip problems and its so comfortable to drive with its higher driving position... plenty of room too...#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

To start with - I will be honest and admit to being prejudiced towards Toyota (although I drive a Ford). One of my bosses wives has very serious back problems and she has stuck for the Avensis time after time. He also has a Land Cruiser Colorado which she drives. I have a bit of back problem from time to time, not bad, but I choose to drive automatic for that reason (and I'm a bit lazy too
)
I would seriously consider the Toyota route as they are known for good seats and good support - wish i could afford one!!
Hope that has been helpful.
Maybe a Rav 4?? A Land cruiser is a bit juicy and possibly an Avensis not being quite what you want?Genie
