Not alot to report again! God life is boring!
Did I mention that I eventually got a letter confirming my Amazon card was closed?
Had to get petrol yesterday which was nearly £50! Already done about 150 miles aswell!
Went fishing today which was £8. Couldn't really afford to but promised my mate weeks ago that we would. Am gonna be in my overdraft for a bit this month. Got some ebay sales that will get me back in the black though.
I've been feeling crap about money the last few days. Seems to be a regular thing. The first and last weeks of the month are good coz thats when everything comes out and gets paid. The middle weeks are just a real struggle to be honest as nothing happens! Better get used to it I guess!
Nothing else to report! Another fascinating entry in my diary! :rotfl:0 -
Hi SS
I know what you mean about feeling down about money - I don't really think I will feel any better until I have caught up on all my arrears......It's a long struggle uphill but once you've had your lightbulb moment you can't go back can you??
Keep at it luv, as will I.........I've had an up and down month so far myself - up one minute and being Mrs.Positive and then down the next Mrs.Negative!!
Just remember were all rooting for you so keep ya pecker up............

Okaaay, you're good cos you know when you are going to feel down about finances! SOOOOOOOOOO (only a suggestion) if you know when you are going to feel totally carp about money why not cheer yourself up in those times?
Howabout planning a meal round at yours or a BBQ, invite your mates round, get them to bring a course each and you provide perhaps a dessert or some cheap beer? I've never been able to provide food when I have a BBQ, so always tell people to bring food and drink with them, that way everyone gets to eat what they want, and generally there's stuff left over so you actually have fun AND gain food and drink!
Failing that, what about a card night with your mates, they bring beer, you provide nibbles and the venue! Or nights to watch footy/boxing etc.
I've done all these when I was deadly skint and great fun, well worth it and a different night of entertainment!Might cheer you up mate

Hey SouthernScouser - "another fascinating entry" from your point of view, maybe, but please don't stop posting because, although I don't often post a reply, I do enjoy reading your thread and you are an inspiration to others (particularly me!!)...so keep going!!
Am with you on the "middle weeks" problem, by the way - my direct debits go out in the first week of the month, and I look forward to the last week, as thats when I get to "overpay" using any leftover cash, but I totally agree that the middle weeks are when it all feels a bit pointless and "blurghh" because you can't see any progress...!!
Keep it up, and "thank you" for making the effort to post - it does encourage others, even if you think you aren't making the progress you might like!
Piglet
P.S. Don't feel bad about the fishing - its something you like to do, and you spent time with a friend - an evening in the pub might have been far more damaging to the budget...and you still have to "live" in spite of paying off your debts... :cool:0 -
With regards to the 2 previous posts, I make ALL DDs go out 2 days after I'm paid. It's terrible to see that money in then straight out, but as mentioned above, you can plan a lot better then cover expenses as/when they arrive. If, by the time I get paid next, there is money in the + (which is unfortunately not as often as I'd like) then that goes to overpayments.
As for the suggestions on what to do, the card night and BBQs are a great idea. Card night especially. I've done these 3 times since Xmas and everybody loves it, we are there untill 3 in the morning every time (not planned, that's just when everyone starts to feel it!). It costs about £5-10, dependant on how you play it. You could do the ultra cheap way and play for nothing, so then it will just cost you a few beers. or as we do, we all put a fiver in, then get 100 chips each. This lasts for HOURS, and you may even come out on top! with winnings it has worked out that it has cost me nothing over the 3 tiems. and at worst, I would be out £15 TOTAL and the cost of beers (which beeing a bit cheeky, when people bring beers for the night they all seem to bring to much which stocks my fridge for the next one - lol).
BBQ - I hate Makro, and don't find anything to be cheap there. BUT, they do pallets of marinated chicken/meet. This also seems to ALWAYS be reduced because of the sell0by dates (don't know why). I stock up my freezer for the whole summer there sometimes in one shop. a pallet of chicken legs marinated is £5.99, I have never paid more than £2.99 PP, sometime 99p! And that is literally about 25 good legs/thighs.0 -
Thanks for all your kind words everyone. You don't realise how much they mean to me.0

Just phoned Capital One to reduce my credit limit by £1,000 and as soon as I said it's about my credit limit, they said "do you want to decrease it again?"! :rotfl:
They are getting to know me so well!
Also phoned up Morgan Stanley. They couldn't offer me a good BT so knocked £400 off the limit of that one aswell. Why they need to know how much I earn to REDUCE the limit god only knows!
But thats £1,400 of potential debt gone. Plus the £5,300 on my Amazon card which was closed a couple of days ago. Also in a couple of days the Tesco card will be clear and if they can't offer me a good BT then that will be another £600 making a grand total of £7,300 of potential debt gone in just a few weeks. :j
Hopefully I will be accepted for another low life of balance transfer card pretty soon!0
