    Sooo tired today....:(

Left OH in bed this morning while I dragged myself into the office..roll on 4.30pm!

Aussie: Sorry to here about you locket. I lost a bracelet last year which was very dear to me and I was completely inconsolable.

It's cold and windy here with rain expected so don' think OH will get any washing out today. He is painting the downstairs loo today and putting up a a new shower rail and blinds in the upstairs bathroom.

Cheese, crackers, fruit and water for lunch today. Started to try and lose weight agin but seems to fail when I get home and there is a G&T or a chilled Magners waiting on me:D

OS today, well I think I might do some baking tonight as I have eggs to use up. Also really need to find my slow cooker; I miss it! Got some black out blinds from Freecycle last night which are fab. Brand new white B&Q ones!

Hope everyone has a good Friday, hugs to all. xx

    Good morning all,

Rain here too and it looks set for the day so the washing will be on clothes maidens on the landing. It's DS1's birthday this morning so we've had the round of cards & presents and another birthday cake after tea this evening ;)

Tru Sorry about Pink chick hope you find out what the problem was.

Aussie What a shame about your necklace. Last year my Mum lost a silver cross & chain that my Dad had bought her when she was 15 (she's 68 now) It's horrible losing something of such sentimental value.

Redruby :T to your OH let us know how the bidding ends on Sunday! Hope you feel better soon.

Essex Girl Did the book on your iPod help pass the housework time yesterday? Also if you need help with your cross stitch I can reccommend Jane Greenoff's Complete Book of Cross Stitch. It's perfect for someone new to the hobby and it should be in your library so you can road test it before you buy IYSWIM? PM me if you need any help I'd be happy to answer any queries you have :D

Bethebee My Mum was like you with helping when my DD was born it's such a help. Hope your DD feels brighter today after some rest.

(((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))) to anyone I may have missed or who needs one.

Meatballs & Spaghetti for tea tonight and general pottering and tidying today. I might get some cross stitch done this afternoon if time allows.

Have a good day folks & keep dry dodging the rain xxx

Edited to add: Happy Anniversary Mr & Mrs Haribo!

 Happy Anniversary Mr & Mrs Haribo  (wont ask if your pressie is a Hester special :D)

Sunnygirl - yes it did make it more bearable - need to get the hang of it a little more - I love reading and this is the first time I have every tried a audio book. Many Thanks for the book recommondation, I shall go on the library website and order it. (My local library is one of the smallest in the world I think). Its a really lovely design but does seem very complicated. My mum is a great sewer, knitter and does brilliant crochet but those genes seemed to have passed me by sadly - however I did inherit my cooking skills from her so not all bad.

    Hi all

Just popped on quickly as have a pile of ironing to do before meeting a friend at 12 for lunch:D
I have spoken to DS school today and they have had a difficult week with him too:rolleyes: Apparently the yr 6 SATS are going on and all the teaching assistants have had to help with that so DS has not had his one to one:eek:.
They are surprised by how much it has affected him, well he has autism and ADHD of course it will affect him, add to that the fact that his processing disorder means he doesnt know what they are askng him to do half the time and it is no wonder he didnt cope:mad:. They make me so angry at times. Inclusion is all very well but the teachers have to understand what they are dealing with:rolleyes:
have found that DS will now say" i am getting angry" before he kicks off so am thinking about using a book with him called " when my autism gets too big" which is relaxation exercises for these children and teaching them to judge their anger/anxiety on a scale of 1 to 5, not sure if it will work:think:.

    anyway....and breathe;)

D&DD something seems to be happening with you today but I cant find out what, suspecting it may be to do with your FIL so hugs and hope all goes well
Betheebee hope your DD knows how lucky she is to have you near and the amount you do for her.....what a wonderful mum.....mine lives too far away and it was a real struggle at first with no support
Redruby how exciting....wonder if my OH will ever come home with anything useful instead of compters and computer parts which take over the house:rotfl:

    Happy anniversary to the Haribo`s!!!!!

Morning everyone - well the weather here has broken :( unfortunately though, I'd hung out 2 loads of washing on the line and it was on the way to work that it started raining......

I was out at a meeting yesterday evening and when I got home, DH had done the housework :T:T

Glad it's Friday, it's been a busy week for our house. We're going out for dinner tonight to catch up with friends, so don't have to prepare anything for tonight's tea. :j

Hope the rest of the day goes well for people, I'm away to catch up with the rest of the thread now.
  • Good morning all.

It's so good to have finally made it back here! I've really missed you all terribly. It's pouring rain here today so I don't think I'll get anything done outside with the exception of bringing in the recycling bins. I was hoping to get the grass cut however every time I plan on doing it, it's rained.

We are moved in, yet the decorating hasn't even started yet in our flat. The landlord who lives 4 hours south of here asked me if I'd be willing to do some outside cleanup for him for a bit of cash. I did and I suppose he was impressed. I'm now cleaning and decorating the other two flats that are empty so he can get them rented.

I truly cannot believe the state the prior tenants have left these flats in. I would be horrified and totally ashamed if I did such a thing. I suppose some people don't care about living in filth and basically destroying their home. I'm not a clean freak, and I know if any of you looked at these flats, you'd be just as appalled as I am.

The landlord had an estate company managing this building for him and has sacked them as they obviously weren't doing their job. He has basically turned over the day to day running of the building to me. I called him with some concerns on one of the empty flats yesterday and he said, do what you think is best for in there and you can tell me about it when I'm up next week. I must admit, it's great fun for me. The landlord wants his flats to be of high quality and with good tenants in them. That makes a big difference for sure. Plus the pay for the extra work, the routine work and the low rent is quite a blessing for us.

The only downside to the flat is that it basically has a kitchenette rather than a proper kitchen. It's combined with the lounge so there really isn't much room to expand it. However our very talented daughter gave us some great ideas for making things more efficient and workable in there. So it's not as bad as it could be. I'm getting some other ideas now that we've been in for a bit and I'm expecting it to turn out very nice.

I've promised DH that I will take this weekend off from doing things here. I think he's missing our time out and about on his days off. It seems like things have been go, go and more go since we moved in.

I must get going as the kitchen guy is coming for one of the flats in 15 minutes. It did need to be redone, however it was another destruction zone by a prior tenant.

Lots of (((((((((((((((((Gentle Hugs)))))))))))))))))))) to all and I'll try to call in later.

    Peyton xxx

((((HUGS)))) to anyone I haven't mentioned who needs some!

Edited to add - Hiya Peyton, welcome back, we missed you! Have only glanced at your post but will read it now, but I gather your new home was filthy, that's awful!

I'm another one making cottage pie for tea:confused::D It must just be that sort of day! It looks quite bright out there atm but rain is forecast so don't know if any washing will be hung outside. I might just give myself a holiday from washing today.
