You could try some of the restaurants on Duke Street - there's Mayur, which is an awesome Indian fine dining place, there's a Japanese Teppanyaki place there, and a much better pizzeria, called Il Forno, also a gastro pub, the Munro - I've eaten at all these places, and can recommend all of them. They're pretty much in a row down Duke St - you'll absolutely have to book the Monro - it's always over-subscribed.
Cheers,If at first you don't succeed, then sky-diving isn't for you

I can personally reccomend the Bar and Grill, my brother is the chef here.

I would suggest you book in advance, a bit pricey but worth every penny. HTH0 -

I've heard it's supposed to be awesome - never went whilst I was in Liv, sadly!

If you like Mexican then you should try the Tavern (just round the corner from ASK) - http://www.tavernco.co.uk0

I can recommend St Petersburgh Russian Restaurant just off Duke St and Alma De Cuba in Seel St which is in an old church. You can also try the Liverpool One Shopping Centre which has about 14 restaurants including Wagamama and Yo Shusi.:hello: N:hello:A :hello:N :hello:A :hello:M :hello:A :hello:G :hello:S :hello:0 -
Sugarvine is great.
Don't recommend Sapporo Teppanyaki. For a show it's great but food it's appalling. Unfortunately the whole street of duke street restaurants is owned by the same cowboy. The indian restaurant and the mexican restaurant and the japanese rest, and...... italian il forno is owned by the same guy. Just don't rate it. Same ridiculous chefs jumping about. Seen them run one day from the mexican to the indian rest. Could'nt stop laughing.
(1) Simply Heathcotes is great but expensive - british dishes. If you have the money try this. Expect to spend £35 a head.
(2) Etsu - japanese (way better). The sushi is great but the sashimi is not so great. The tempura is lovely as well. You want to try the Tonkatsu main pork fillet. Lovely. Something really different. Saki is brilliant. Expect to spend £20 per head.
(3) Tai Pan restaruant - chinese (must take a taxi). Out of town. The only chinese restaurant that is properly done for chinese people's mouths. Basically if the restaurant is full with chinese, it must be good. Spend only average £15 per head. If you are desperate for chinese and don't want to take a taxi, go to china town and try MEI MEI's.
LiverpoolOne now has new restaurants. I have tried them all from Pizza hut, Nando's, wagamama, burger joint, etc and only Nando's hits my taste buds. But you can just go around the corner.
As you are staying in the marriot these restaurants are in reachable distance. Otherwise you will be going to Ask around the corner (which is poor). Or the classic Nando's which you can't fail. LOL. Tavern is'nt that much good. Use your vouchers if you really want to taste microwaved stuff.
PS. don't agree with the bar and grill. Nothing special. A group of friend spent £500 there. We everything from starters to steaks etc and champagne. Service is great but food, nothing special. But... brilliant bar. The same boss owns Piccolino which is also rubbish.
Don't try carragher's restaurant. Poor as well. But decent bar surrounded by Liverpool FC merchandise.Motto: 'If you don't ask, you don't get!!'
