Element positioning can be used in place of frames so....

<html>
<head>
<title> Your webpage title </title>
<style type ="text/css">
.box1 !! position: absolute; top: 25%; left: 25%; width: 200px; height: 200px; background-color: blue;  }
</style>
</head>

//-- then you would use that above code (class) in your body using dvi //

<body>
<dvi class="box1">
<p><b>Box 1:</b> your content here </p>
</dvi>
</body>
</html>

The stuff in red you can change, stuff in green has to be the same but can differ in terms of what you want to call it, you could then go on to use .Box 2 / 3 / 4 ect...

Note how position: absolute; top: 25%; are 2 different properties and are separated by a ;
The value is stated after the :

To use that you want to paste it into notepad and save it as index.html
Also replace red bit .box 1 !! with a left curly bracket because it wont let me put that there for security purps :p

One of the big problems which sent frames packing is search engine pickup.

If you have 3 sections on your page, the search engine will pick it up as three different pages.
So if a page is found using a search engine, it'll only display a third of the page.

The lazy way of navigating is not so good now.
You need to put the menus on each page now.

DVI ?? That's a new one on me. Is it more versatile than a DIV? Or was it a typo? I'm not taking the micky, honest, I'm intrigued.
