Oh I completely agree... I go armed with a list of 'needed' things and an idea of price (normal and on offer) in the supermarkets. There are strict rules: a maximum budget, only everyday items no treats even if they are good deals and all meat gets portioned up when we get home so that the freezer only contains managable sized portions reducing wastage.MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.0 -

Just reporting in another £12 OP and £170 off the 0% credit card.
Unfortunately that £170 was the last of my Jan/Feb mystery shopping/auditing extravaganza.
Also, I found out this week that my regular £106 per month audits are over. I need to make this money up by some other activity so I'm flogging myself on the ebay front at the moment till I can get more mystery shopping/auditing work.MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.0 -

End of the month leftover money has taken me below £1000 on the 0% credit card... also some news on MrMRN's PPI might boost this year's OP too.MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.0

Well... long time no speak! Here's a quick update:
* I paid the 0% credit card off by the start of May (3 months earlier than the 0% deal was ending).
* We've been overpaying £12 each month on the mortgage - small we know but we bought a do-er up-er so spare money goes into increasing the value instead of paying off the mortgage at the moment.
*PPI payment came in which will allow us to rennovate/furnish the main bedroom, living room, hallway, stairs and landing by Christmas 2012. Now just the kitchen and dining room to do on the renovation project.
* Following negotiations with work I'm now allowed to work one day a fortnight at home - saving fuel!
* Saved the final payment for my car (2 years early).MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.0 -

Sometimes it's good to look back and see how far you've come, and realise that where you're going may be a long way ahead, but you'll get there. I'm a long-hauler too, and I know I need those numbers in my sig to keep reminding me that I *am* making progress, even if it's slower than other people's. Well done so far, MRN, and hang in there!Starting again 13/4/19Home loan 1: £21,102.50 Home loan 2: £7,698.99Total owed: £28,801.49

Hi Lois_E and milkybars,
Yeah I guess it is progress but it does seem small. Maybe you're right, perhaps a more detailed signature might help, then I can update regularly and visually o bserve my progress. I fully intend to update the spreadsheets during my time off at the end of August.
I've been quiet because I've been putting many hours into professional development - all part of the master plan for a step up the career ladder and a job closer to home.MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.0
