I dislike this part of the month... money flow stops completely (good for spending but bad for payingoff/saving). I've had an £8 and a £12 dribble off the 0% credit card balance from mystery shopping payments. But I think that'll be it till towards the end of the month now. It's the staticness of it that annoys me, I stare at the balances through online banking but try as I might I can't make the numbers magically change!MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.0

I got my thinking cap on last night for some mid-month income activities. For the sort term I came up with ebay (but I prefer to use free listing weekends) and longer term aerobics instruction (something I've been thinking about getting qualified to do for a while now). Any other ideas?MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.0

Morning MRN
I recently registered for market research - a couple of others on the forum do this and thought I'd give it a go. like http://www.talkingpointresearch.com/
Suppose it depends where you're based and how flexible your time is. I've signed up for a couple of activities and needed to fit my work day around them as many of them seem to be mid week mornings.

Happy Friday!
Just checking in to report another £12 in the annual OP fund and £5.68 from ebay off the 0% cc.
I've been invited to give a talk at a seminar next week - I was offered a nice speakers fee so fingers crossed that will be in my possession shortly a week or so after the seminar!
We're away this weekend but staying with OH's relatives so other than fuel, it should be a NSWknd.MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.0 -

i've been doing a thing with my shopping, my grocery bill was way to high for my liking so i popped on over to the grocery challenge board and read a wee bit there about things, i then remembered what Lemon tree does and mixed it up to suit myself
basically what i do is when i save money in my shopping i put it by into a seperate account, just now that is going towards a holiday in Rome, but once Rome is done it will be towards the debt
so a working example of this would be the co-op currently has Ben and Jerry's ice-cream on at half price, now two things here 1) i love ben and jerry's
2) i cant afford ben and jerry's
so what i did was buy 8 tubs of the stuff at half price ( it will last me right through the summer probably till October atleast)
every time i take a tub out of the freezer i put £2.45 into the seperate account ( which i am using for Rome) £2.45 is the money i saved
yesterday i bought 30 blocks of butter ( the plan is it will last me atleast 30 weeks) i got the butter for £1 instead of £1.60 so every time i take a block of butter out the freezer i transfer 60p over to my account
the best deal i got yet has been kenco coffee which was down from £4.50 to £2.10 and with coupons it went down to £1.60 i bought 10 packets or saved £29
if you add a cash back visa to this scenario then you are saving even more
down sides of this are
1) you need space to keep everything
2) you need to pay up front for things
so far it is working for me, it doesnt work for everything but it is saving me enough to make it worth my while , i have enough coffee for a year for only £16 that's good for me0 -

This made OH laugh as I don't need encouraging to buy in bulk. We buy our most used items in bulk from Costco. My best deal was 80 toilet rolls (good brand, BOGOF on 40 rolls) which lasted 19 months but were stacked taller than me in the utility room!MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.0
