I'm pretty sure you're not allowed to sell stuff on ebay that you don't have to hand or in stock, so if ebay saw this liting they would pull it on the grounds of pre-selling.
That rule was quietly removed about 2 years ago. There is no mention of it at all in the user agreement or any of the help pages.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -
If you look through his completed items he has sold other PS3s at a higher price to the £155.
Is it possible he is shipping them from abroad?
It would be interesting to see what the ratings are like after 17 days and what the buyers say.0 -
I've just checked the sellers items & now he has more PS3s for sale @ £190 for a 80gb. His rating is now 855. Im very tempted! What do people think?
Is there likely to be a price cut for the PS3?0 -

ps3's are region free, so no need for chipping.0 -

There is this ebay help page
Pre-Sale Listings
Pre-sale listings are those that describe items for sale that are not in the control or possession of the seller at the time of the listing. These listings generally consist of items that are sold in advance of a delivery date to the public.
eBay permits pre-sale listings only on a limited basis. T
The seller must guarantee that the item will be available for dispatch within 30 days from the date of purchase (i.e., the day the listing ends or the date the item is purchased from a shop front listing).
The seller must also clearly indicate within the listing the fact that the item is a pre-sale item with a delivery date that indicates the item will be dispatched by the 30th day from the end date of the listing. Additionally, this text must be no less than the default font size of the eBay Sell-Your-Item form. Currently, the default font size is HTML font size 3.
The exception to this policy pertains to tickets. eBay permits sellers to list tickets that they have bought even if they do not physically have them in their possession as it is common practice now for event organisers to send out their tickets close to events. However, eBay does not permit the sale of tickets where the seller could not possibly have bought or have any claim on the ticket because either (a) the event does not exist or (b) the tickets for the event in question have not been put on public sale, or made available through fan clubs, debentures or any other means.

hi all
Just thought I give you a update on this.
Have been keeping an close on this sellers items and finally the some buyers have been rating him for some PS3s. All of the PS3 buyers have been happy with the items with the only 'complaint' being the time it takes for the item (almost a month!).
His rating is now over 900, so after some thinking I finally bid on a buy it now PS3 80gb for £175.
I will keep you posted when/ or if I receive the item. Fingers crossed that I do!

Hi all
Heres the latest, after waiting 31 days (well over the 15-17 days stated) the ps3 arrived yesterday. Upon opening the package I was shocked to see the 40gb box! To make matters was the box was worn and used (as new stated in the posting). So i thought maybe its just the box they put the 80gb in....
Well no. Turned it on and it was a 40gb!
No manuals and there was some scracthes on the ps3. However there were two games in the box which were not mentioned in the posting. were they trying to sweeten the deal so I would not say anything? Well I am getting a 40gb plus 2 games for £175, not bad. However the fact is they said it was 80gb like new.
So I complained to the seller. He has today put £25 to cover the cost of postage to send the item back and has promised to send a 'brand new 80gb'!
We will see what happens.
Until then good night0
