1) Letter to Lloyds requesting details of bank charges in the last 6 years (to be honest I don't think it'll amount ot much but I am leaving them anyway and every £ is a £ less debt Wrote the letter... just need to remember to post it DOH!!!
2) Continue search on emergency fund bank account for unexpected bills Still not found one I really like althought might go with Egg as so far they have been great!
3) SPEND LESS ON LUNCHES! GAH!!! Uhmmm yes well... room for improvement!
4) List more on Ebay - check books and stuff in loft Sold a few more bits but still loads to go and still haven't made it to the loft derrrrr!!
5) Continue to work out how MSMoney actually works GAAAAH! Haven't had the patience to do it this week... Will persevere
6) Sell non running mondeo on Ebay... looks liek non runners still fetch £50 upward and it's certainly better selling it than paying for someone to remove it! Just haven't had the time to drag the camera to work where said car is parked and take some pics... will try to remember this week even if I have missed the speacial offer on Ebay for motors listing
This week:
-Use slow cooker more to save on food bills and it's yummy!
-Finish cleaning the house... no money saving but has to be done
-Go through all my various chests where I hoard stuff and list it on ebay!
-Work out how Amazon works and list books
-Cut back on wine consumption *sigh*
-Try to remember to bring cam to work for selling of MondeoDFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!
My DFW Diary - blah- mildly funny stuff about my journey0 -
Last week I didn't manage to list any more stuff on ebay which is a shame as my ladies are all emailing me saying where are you LOL..will try to do this this week but I have an extremely hectic week to come with lots of appointments with/for the boys
Did chase up Morganstanley so waiting to hear from them again...
Didn't manage to stop looking at the spreadsheets either though..I just printed a load more.. :rotfl:
Plan for this week is just to stay sane
I have a few bits coming from Occ Therapist for DS2 and just know that DS1 is going to have a field day _pale_0 -
I agree this has come round again quickly! I haven't checked mine this week to see how I did... till now...
LAST WEEK
1. 2 No spend days - achieved, just about.
2. Make a decision about a new mobile phone before mine dies entirely -I would still be faffing around if I hadn't made this public pledge! I bought my new phone yesterday.
3. Tidy an area of the house - yes, various bits and some cleaning.
4. Find out about borrowing a wheelbarrow - yes, no problem borrowing it, possible problem in ensuring I don't then get landed with it as no-one wants it! (was Grandma's)
5. Book MOT - booked in for tomorrow.
6. Ebay an ornament I've got landed with *or* politely hand it back - have discussed this with my parents and will be handing it back this week, as the guy they usually have for Ebaying is back doing it now.
7. REMEMBER the racing is on this week and will have a big impact on travel and town - hah! forgot this the day after making this one - though to be fair it wasn't on till the Tuesday... but the buses were changed all week. Remembered from then on and didn't go near town.
Wow! A sweep
And so to this week:
1. I've decided the Halifax was too glib saying my 7% account would continue if the dd continued, since the whole thing is set up round the fact it closes at the end of a year. So I'm going to go and labour the point, get it in writing if need be. Also make sure there is an R85 in on that account (Paid as gross).
2. Two no-spend days
3. Learn to use my new phone
4. Pick up free supermarket magazines to obtain coupons
5. Spend less time on the pc
6. Install printer so that I can go mystery shopping
7. Dispose of some books by whatever means
Good luck everyone and hi to all the new guysDo I Need One Stops All Unnecessary Reckless Spending£2 CSC - £30 :kisses3:0 -
Goals set for last week were:

Complete paperwork for venture no, not done
Package stuff for venturehalf done
Have one no spend day no, but only £2 on parking one day
Put advert for more work into forthcoming newsletter yes, done
I also got 2 and a half days work, so not a bad week.
Now for this week:
Add 2 x £2 coins
Keep spending diary
Not spend anything in Boots or on presents, and less on petrol
Finish packaging stuff for venture (too small to call it a business yet...)
Complete paperwork for venture, really important, must be ready for sale on Sunday
Have one no spend day
Get 2 days paid work
I am really finding this goal setting helpful! Thanks and good luck everyone. It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -
1. Use tumble dryer once only this week
Achieved! Used only once on a rainy evening.
2. Add one £2 coin to collection and something to the other savings pots too - anything at all possible.
Achieved! I added to all three savings pots.
3. Have at least 2 no spend days.
FAILED! However a lot of spends went on EBAY postage and people’s leaving collections (always difficult to get out of!)
4. Spend no more than £5 on the remaining fresh groceries needed for the end of the week.
FAILED - by about 65p! D’oh!
5. Start a spend diary either on Excel or in a little book.
Achieved! Started up a spend diary on Excel and it’s a real eye opener even in the first week of use! Brilliant, so glad I started it.
This week's goals are:
1. Add to all three savings pots - whatever is realistically possible.
2. Find at least one more thing to list on EBAY and/or Amazon.
3. Use washing machine 4 times MAX & tumble dryer ONCE only this week.
4. Do not top up with credit on PAYG unless it's an emergency. Use free online sms or email. (I must wait until pay day to top up.)
5. Make appointment with hairdresser for about 5/6 weeks time so I can claim £10 off my next treatment with the recommendation vouchers I have filled out.
6. Try my best to have at least one no spend day (please please please..!)
7. £5 on balance of fresh groceries for the week (hmm try again shall I?)
Good luck everyone!Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.
Sainsburys Loan: Cleared July 2010
Credit cards: AMEX Airmiles Card: direct debit set to clear balance monthly

Ok, first an update on the week just ending:
Contribute at least one more £2 coin to savings. Deposit £20 into my current account and decide which savings account to transfer it to (set up separate account maybe?). Contributed £8 to savings, opened an additional account with ING, registered for gross interest on it and set up £20 transfer. Forgot the bit about banking the coins though  so that's 9/10 I think
Same as last week: Research some new (cheap) meals to make, for lunches and dinner. Need to increase my range of dishes and keep myself interested! Did this one :j Found some new things to keep me interested and they're mostly cheap (and healthy) too! 10/10
Together with the above: Look at my diet (as in what I eat, not that I'm specifically on a diet) and try to find some changes to make it healthier. I feel ignorant of what a "balanced diet" actually means so do some research on this. I know that some of what I eat is largely out of habit and I just need to make gradual changes in those habits. Hopefully more nutricious home cooked food will save me money too! Well I didn't get round to thorough research but decided to start with cutting down chocolate/sugary things and increasing fruit and veg, five a day and all that! So I bought a lot more fruit and veg than I normally would (to make all my lovely new meal ideas). Would still like to do some proper research but no time lately! 8/10
Keep up the taking of home made food on long journeys to avoid motorway services food. Maybe allow one coffee! Done :j Took lovely pasta salad, apple, orange pepper and fruit juice carton instead of coffee *yippee* 10/10
When i get home on tuesday, make a meal plan up until the 23rd (when I go away again), shop for everything that won't go off. Try to keep this as cheap as possible. Well I made the meal plan, full of new and healthy stuff, made the list, went shopping and stuck to the list :j But the cheap bit, ho hum.... came to £25! I don't feel too worried though cos that is feeding me for almost 2 weeks and I had to buy quite a few "storecupboard" type items. So 8/10
Have one no spend day (might not even manage the one this week!) Yep, managed the one :j 10/10
That's 55/60 :j
So some goals for next week:
Deposit £30 of £2 coin savings into bank account and transfer £10 to savings (£20 already transferred!).
Keep up the eating of lots of fruit, veg etc and stop treating myself to chocolate quite so often! Use same discipline for this as applied to money saving!
Make nice food for journey rather than buy motorway services food, maybe allow one coffee if I need to stay awake!
Have one no spend day.
Finish a full draft of my dissertation and submit it for some feedback (final deadline is 4th April  ). Not exactly money related but I tend to spend when I'm stressed so will be good to have this gone!!
Good luck everyoneDon't stress, relax, let life roll off your backs. Except for death and paying taxes, everything in life is only for now... Avenue QOfficial DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 003Proud to have become debt free... and striving to keep it that way

Thank you nabowla for remembering to put the thread up this week :T
Last week, I had the following aims:
1. Have a £10 spending money week (Mon-Fri) This should be ok unless my colleague wants to go out for lunch. Sadly his mom passed last week and I offered to take him out to lunch (owe him one anyway) to have a proper chat. I am happy with this one. I spent around £16 last week, £9 of which was the lunch. So, I did OK :T
2. Make lunch for myself and OH to take to work 4/5 days. Yep, did great on this! :T
3. List even more items on Ebay. Got 5 on there now and lots more to go on it! Not listed any more and only 2/5 sold. Must work harder on this
This week I aim to:
1. Make lunch for myself and OH to take to work 4/5 days.
2. Have 3 no spend days
3. List more items on ebay
Have a great week everyone :beer:Leason learnt :beer:0
