Of course, welcome to the thread!!
Good luck with the stopping smoking, think of the money you'll save!! :j
Edit to say: think perhaps I should include one about early nights :rotfl: Tonight (this morning) is an exception though because I've been writing my dissertation. Wouldn't normally stay up late to write (deadline isn't tomorrow or anything!) but the last bit was just in my head waiting to be written and I thought if I went to bed I would forget it :rotfl:

Hi everyone,
Normally I'm first to post on this thread - now I'm last! Ooops!
Here were my goals from last week:-
*4 no spend days from my £20 budget for the week DONE! Actually managed 5, I think! 12/10!
*Get loads ready for my craft fair on Sunday - stock, business cards, display etc. This will take up most of my spare time. DONE! But so not worth it! I've bored you all enough about that though...! 10/10
*Put up cards/posters for babysitting (did first babysit in 10 years last night!) NOT DONE! Carried over... 0/10
*Go and visit my friend in hospital an hour and half's drive away and stop worrying about the petrol cost - she is more important!DONE! And so glad I went but this is now why my petrol is in the red... 10/10
*Do my cleaning and tidying - TODAY! DONE! Well needs done again but I gave it a really good clean. 10/10
*Keep up the motivation at work DONE (ish)! Have not done anything today and am in a real sulk so need to keep this up and not get into bad habits...7/10
*If have time, send off bank charges letter NOT DONE! Carried over... 0/10
49/70 :j :T
I also wanted to write down the positive things I did do and didn't plan to as apparently this is a good motivational tool (thanks PaleScene!):-
*Extra no spend day (as above)
*Took my lunch into work every day last week, even though what is left in the freezer isn't particularly inspiring. Note to self - don't leave all the food I have made and don't like very much until the end of the month - no money and no nice food = bad combination!
*Called my mobile company to discuss my options for closing my account & get my PAC number on 15 April (date out of contract) and have made a note in my diary to call back then - moving onto PAYG to save approx £20 a month
*9 x £2 coins and about £1.60 in 20ps! Yay!
Here are this week's goals- 4 no spend days (Tuesday-Friday)
- Write and submit copy for big deal magazine that wants to feature me (and will hopefully bring in some business
- Send samples to person interested in selling my work on
- Set up my eBay shop
- Keep up with eBay orders
- Look into insuring my friend for my car on Saturday as going on a BIG round trip in the one day - but if costs lots then don't do it
- Have a low spend while visiting Darlington on Saturday to wave goodbye to a close friend who is emigrating to Oz
- Write and send prelimenary bank charges letter
- Make and put up 5 x babysitting flyers locally
- Do shopping list/forward week's meal plan and work out receipes for making on Sunday once we finally have some food (cupboards a bit bare this week)
Wow, that's a lot but hopefully achievable!
Good luck everyone!

Hi everyone
A newbie here and if its ok I'd like to join in too...
Goals this week....
1. Phone Sky and say I want to cancel my £21 a month contract (had it for 6 years) to see if I can get it reduced for 6 months (I'm useless at this stuff though and it'll probably end up closed with my son upset he'll lose his kids channels!)
2. Bank the £3.50 refund cheque from Next (paid off balance of £254 last month then they refunded the catalogue charge yay!)
3. Bank the £10 of 20p's saved
4. Go to Nationwide and sort an old account out - has £5.52 from 13 yrs ago, but with all that interest, I'm gonna get it and they tell me it's mine!
5. Use money from 2-5 to pay extra off a cc
6. Ooh if someone can point me in the direction of the A&L current account recommend a friend thing - I am interested! Just need to do it after 15th April due to using travel insurance on present current account 10-15th April - then I want to ditch Lloyds and their monthly fees!
7. Have 3 no spend days this week
I feel a bit hyper-motivated writing it down!
best of luck to everyone
