Persevere - you will get used to it I promise. I bought Birkenstocks last year and they felt so uncomfy I was disgusted I had wasted all that money. I kept wearing them and very soon they were just the comfiest thing ever! I love them. I have just brought them out again and the first few times I wore them again it felt strange that sore bruisd feeling you describe - but break yourself in gently and soon they will be the comfiest thing you own. Not the sexiest, but the comfiest!0

I love my fit flops I can wear them for hours walking up and down invigilating exams. I think mine are last year's design, they are brown leather/nubuck.
Thinking of getting some Birkenstocks as I'm really flat footed and I think they provide better arch support but they don't look as comfortable.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Fitflops are the only toepost sandals I can wear, and while they're extremely comfortable for walking around in, I honestly don't feel any effects whatsoever re toning, unlike MBTs, which really do make a difference. Walk uphill in MBTs and you certainly know about it the same day, never mind the next! Unfortunately they're none too cheap.0

i find once shoes/sandals have start to rub, i can't wear them again until my feet have healed, then i just wear them little and often so i get used to them. Until the next summer when i need to do it all over again. I have a pair of birkinstocks that are years old but still look quite new as i only wear them in short bursts. Am tempted to get the fit flops as i've read they can help with my back, not too bothered about them rubbing because all shoes rub me, even new trainers.0

I think its hereditary. I love toe posts as do my mother and sister.
Got the fit-flops and birkenstocks. (money saving doesn't apply to shoes, OK)
I can feel that fit-flops are doing my legs some good, though I do sometimes feel dizzy after wearing themI'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. For those asking about fitflops
As to the toning effects they are supposed to have on bum and thighs - well that may well be true but it doesn't really show through the "padding" I'm carrying on those regions:o I do think they are worth the price though!
You and me both!!!!:rotfl::rotfl::wave:0 -
I absolutely despise toe posts... I wish I didn't though! I recently bought a pair of 'Gluv' toe post sandals (this make are meant to be one of the comfiest around!) after years of only wearing mules in summer, and after a couple of hours of wearing them my second biggest toe was bleeding! I'm sending them back, but it's a shame cause they're pretty. I'm sticking to my mules from now on!0
