Not a pleasant shopping experience at all for you.
You may not be keen to rock the boat, but would you feel comfortable knowing that you have merely stood by and done nothing while the old gent at the till was being bullied by her attitude...he probably fears reprisals if he speaks up?
It is not, IMHO, a HO matter, but it is something the store manager should want to hear about, in a constructive way.
The supervisors don't seem to know the policy, either, if it took so long to decide, sobt bringing it to the fore, it would also help in the long run, if a single consistant policy was undertaken in the store.

Not sure I agree entirely with you VC, but I think trying to split the shopping into 2 may have exacerbated the situation.I know some peeps do say they are allowed to do this but I know it would def be frowned upon at my local Tesco...If you were to draw it to the managers attention , and I do agree bad manners by SA's is not called for and should be reported,I would stress the embarassment of the situation for both you and the male cashier rather than the fact that you were splitting your shopping...

I'll be buying buy the wraps. Got a lot of days out coming up( been allocated some great days for fishing by our club...you have to register well in advance for this venue and I prefer wraps to sarnies when fishing)...do you reckon they will be taken for the product with no probs?

    Hi gill377

I am shocked that they banned you when they were clearly in the wrong. Manners cost nothing. Was it the store that banned you or Tesco as a whole? If it was the store can you complain again as you have nothing to lose.

hi yes it was the store,we did contact head office, who stood by the store, but they wouldnt tell us why we were banned, the store manager could have told then anything, we suspect it was because we reported them for their bad attitide, but we are lucky enough to have several tesco around us and they all have lovely SA's,:j:j
Live for today, for tomorrow is promised to no-one.

never complain about growing old,far too many people have been denied that privilege.

I hope you have no problems with your other Tesco's then, but I still cannot believe the attitude of the SA's.

Knowing they work with the public and represent the company, should make the staff better mannered, at least at work. Obviously they are rude and ignorant people at home as well as work.

    take care
  • If you are in Tesco's today look out for someone giving out free samples of Alpro Soya as they also have 40p mocs on the stand. :D:D

Unfortunately you have to buy the product as they are Tesco specific vouchers but great if you do actually like the Alpro Soya range. I think the yoghurts are lovely personally lol!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

We've got a nice stack of vouchers due to the fact we distracted the lady who giving out the samples. As she bent down to get the muesli to show us what type it was mum took a handful of leaflets lol :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::T:T:T:T.

Have a nice weekend all and hope you get lots of shopping done. We are heading to Tesco and Asda shortly with a late lunch/early dinner planned at Sainsbury's along the way (using a 50% off voucher naturally) :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

If u r going to split your shopping, why don't you take your other half or your older son/daughter with you (they still got to eat right or buy something that they want for themselves) . And get them to pay at different counter. You shouldn't hv a problem there. At weekend I normally shop with my other half (same amount of coupons) & my youngest daughter who is only 10 already learn the treat. She gets the left over coupons to purchase her own stuff (1 at a time) ie : Dr.Who magazine, Kid Quiz, etc. When it comes to pay, she will look for her usual checkout lady that knows her or younger cashier. She always avoid old trout.
RIP my dear dear parent : Mum aged 62 (17/5/1990) & Dad aged 89 (23/1/2012)
