    Hi nanna38

the only thing that bothers me by changing the background you are in effect altering the coupon.

This means that when Tesco try to get their money back it might be refused by the company and Tesco won't get paid.

Could give Tesco more ammunition to stop taking internet coupons (which is already a problem in some stores)

Might be better to print the coupon in draft, would use less ink, and probably be accepted by Tesco and the company would still be able to pay Tesco back.

It really is worth asking for a manager now, to get this clarified in your favour. Apparently all stores have been sent a memo yesterday - clarifying acceptance of conditional spend vouchers. The CSM would have received it in each store AFAIK and it inlcudes Morrisons and Waitrose. Don't let clueless staff, old trouts or CS dragons spoil your chance at a great series of savings.

FYI the memo I saw was NOT at Customer Services but I was taken to the till supervisers desk and it was in a folder there. It was very explicit they do take them it IS national policy and ALL stores HAVE to accept them. I would suggest approaching a till manager/ supervisor this weekend to make sure they have the memo it came in on Thursday 14th in the evening. Upsy x

    I'm SO angry.

Just returned from T's. Wanted to take advantage of the half price Hardy's wine, before the offer ends tomorrow, so decided to take 2 batches of vouchers (each batch amounting to £5.20), buy 2 bottles of the wine + some low-price bits & bobs to make it just over the £5.20, and split my shopping into 2.

Went to "mature" checkout chappie that's scanned my vouchers fine in the past. As before, he was only too happy to take my vouchers, and we had a chat about online vouchers and where to find them etc. All going swimmingly well ... UNTIL Old Trout hoves into view, and informs my kindly gent that he's got to get himself over to the Petrol Station NOW as they're short handed (I sensed trouble, when she was already being rude to one of her colleagues).

Sure enough, as he was scanning my 2nd lot of vouchers, she leaned over (in his face) and said "I didn't think we were taking these any more, there's been so much trouble with them". With that, she whisked the remaininder of the bunch out of his hand & flounced off to a gaggle of supervisors who were standing nearby.

Much sucking of teeth and head shaking later (approx 5-10 mins), nice queue building up behind me. My gent looked embarassed and I certainly felt it.

Old Trout returned with the vouchers, thrust them back at my gent with a shrug of the shoulders, and then flounced back round behind his checkout (ready to take over from him), muttering "it's all a fiddle".

I really feel that I want to make a complaint about her attitude, particularly about the "fiddle" bit - after all, it's Tesco and not me that's flouting the wording of these vouchers. But I fear drawing attention if I do this. Even if I ring the store anonymously to complain, it may draw the spotlight onto the whole vouchering thing, and I'm not keen to rock the boat, as they do seem to take most vouchers at the moment.

    Any views ?

    thanks for listening.

OH just been to Asda for Finish. Was told by supervisor that they will accept 3 finish vouchers even if not buying product. He went to Cannock Asda if anyone close to that one.

hi, my daughter and I had similar problem at our local T's,we emailed headoffice, got a lovely reply, apologising, saying they would have a word wi the store manager, all was well for a couple of weeks and then we got a "life times" ban from the store, for what reason we dont know, so best not make a fuss or you may have the same experiance as us,:eek::eek::eek:
Live for today, for tomorrow is promised to no-one.

never complain about growing old,far too many people have been denied that privilege.

    Hi milliesmum

I know how you feel, some SA's are so rude, totally unneccesary too. I

had this on Monday at both Asda and Sainsburys Asda were the worst, made such a fuss over coupons, when I was actually buying the product too. In the end I told her I did not want them if I could not use the coupons.

Some SA's act as though you are trying to rob them or something.

Went to a different Asda this morning as the SA was lovely. Was in the queue next to the self service one. She asked if I wanted to use it and I told her I had never used it before so did not know what to do.

She scanned all my shopping for me and she even packed my shopping for me which was really nice of her. She took 3 finish coupons too, they did not scan but she put them through as manufacturers coupons.

Hope you don't have any problems next time.

    Hi gill377

I am shocked that they banned you when they were clearly in the wrong. Manners cost nothing. Was it the store that banned you or Tesco as a whole? If it was the store can you complain again as you have nothing to lose.

Not a pleasant shopping experience at all for you.
You may not be keen to rock the boat, but would you feel comfortable knowing that you have merely stood by and done nothing while the old gent at the till was being bullied by her attitude...he probably fears reprisals if he speaks up?
It is not, IMHO, a HO matter, but it is something the store manager should want to hear about, in a constructive way.
The supervisors don't seem to know the policy, either, if it took so long to decide, sobt bringing it to the fore, it would also help in the long run, if a single consistant policy was undertaken in the store.
It's nice to be nice .....
You HAVE checked google before asking, haven't you?;)

Well theres no excuse for rudeness but having said that I still maintain that to keep as low a profile as poss is the best action with regards to couponing. In fact (dont laugh) I tend to even wear a more dowdy coloured jacket so as not to stand out in the crowd when I use coupons. I dont think theres much to gain by complaining although i completely understand how you feel, as we all have experiences like you now and again. Thing is if you complain the next time you go there shopping you will feel even more conspicuous. I always find that the next time I go and have a successful couponing shop I feel like Im having the last laugh!! Judy
