Does anybody know anything about astove.co.uk? We're looking for a multi fuel stove and they seem to offer very good prices but I'm suspicious partly because they are cheap and also because they don't display a phone number or physical address on their website, the only method of contact is by email and in their FAQs they say they don't allow anyone to call to collect items because it's a "private warehouse". Whatever that means.
Anybody dealt with them?
I wouldn't touch any website that has no proper contact details on. English on the site is appalling too.
Not sure where you are but we bought from http://www.westbywoodburners.com/0 -
Indeed, that's what I thought. However, I was wondering if anyone had actually dealt with them successfully.0

Sorry, but having a woodburner or multifuel stove fitted correctly to HETAS and building regs is quite an expense. Can't see the point of buying a cheap stove from a dodgy seeming website.0

Golden rule when buying of the internet is to buy from a site that has an address and contact telephone number
If this site doesnt have either - then walk away
Keep asking about it and Im sure there will soon be another newbie to the thread, but this one will say how wonderful the company is and what brilliant service they received0 -

I am about to start installing a wood burner myself (Vermont Castings Intrepid 2). I have researched the building regs and everything will comply / exceed the stipulations. I am fitting a 7" 904/904 liner insulated with rockwool tubes, so the flue should be good.
From experience, can anyone say how much I should expect to pay to have the installation signed off by the local council or independent building control or HETAS?
Thank you.0 -
We would like to install a multi-fuel burner in a cellar room we are turning into a games room. On the other side of the room, about 10 feet away, is the main gas meter for the house. Is this likely to be an issue, and is there anything we need to do as a result?
Any advice gratefully received!0 -

Thank you.
If you look on your local authorities building control website it should list fees for all planning/building regs. My fee was £69.00 in September
2010 so swipes figure will be very close me thinks. If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you! :dance:0
