I Dont Think I Can Do This Anymore!

I know my situation is all my own fault and its me and me only that can get me out of it. I also know that Im only at the begining of my dmp but i just dont think i can do it anymore.

Im so unhappy, I cant explain.

Im trying to loose weight so I cant eat anything nice or naughty (Im doing a liquid only diet which is hard!) i also question every penny i spend as im trying to keep to my budget.

So im sitting here watching my ebay auctions, i feel house bound because if i go out i will use petrol and spend money and i cant even plan a nice meal because i cant eat.

Sorry for ranting, im just totally fed up of it all.

Big hugs to you Pixie - you are doing SOOOOOO well but I can sympathise with you!! I am on a diet too and I can whole heartedly agree that it is no fun - especially when you have to watch your pennies too!!!

A liquid only diet sounds very tough - is this your own choice? Could you not follow a healthy eating plan instead? Is there anything else you can do to take your mind off eating/money? Sort out some more things for ebay? Watch a good film or read a nice book? To be honest, its so cold outside that you are better off being in, I would give anything to be at home right now rather than be stuck at work!!!

If you do go out, could you not treat yourself to something small? Buy a cheapy magazine or something?

I seem to have been able to get my ££££ under control, but cant get to grips with the dieting, same principles I know, but its true that if you cant have something you want it even more (i.e. chocolate!!). PM me and perhaps we could motivate each other???

Big hugs hun, I hope you find something nice to do this weekend - you're not missing out on much believe me :0)

I an sympathise, I too am trying to loose weight aswell as getting rid of debt and it can make you very miserable.

However, last night I sat and ate a cake (an iced bambury to be precise) and then just felt quilty the rest of the night!

Don't get downhearted - there's tonnes of support on here which is certainly doing a power of good for me!

  • Pixie - that sounds like the oddest diet in the world. It's probably not helping your state of mind about the DMP if you're down about everything else. You are going to have days like this, especially since your debt free date seems so far away, but look how well you're doing with the little things - you grocery challenge is good (because you're not buying enough food, maybe?) but you've got a good amount of £2 coins saved and boots points. Can't you use those points for a little pick me up?

keep at it - you're just feeling the initial pinch as your budget contracts your usual spending. Soon enough your new budget will be normal. :grouphug:

AW Hi pixie sorry to see you're feeling so fed up I think we all get days like that and I so know what you mean about not going out!!
Have you got any friends you can call on to come over and cheer you up? Maybe get them to bring a bottle and have a night in?
Keep your chin up hun we're all in this together some of us deeper than others!! :grouphug:

    Things will get better.
It takes time to get used to the restrictions you have put on yourself.
The occassional treat won't hurt be it a bunch of flowers from the supermarket or a walk and a picnic at a park near you.

    Hi Pixie

I think you may be trying to do too much at once hun.

How much weight are you aiming to lose (if that's not too personal)? I'm on a diet too aiming to shed about stone and half. I've just upped my intake of veg and cut down on spuds and meat at meal times and take homemade soup to work with some bread and fruit. I've cut out wine too which I thought was going to be soooo difficult but it hasn't been.
I've killed to birds with one stone so to speak as I've cut back on food bills at the same time!
I'm only on my second week and the weight is only about 1 to 2 pounds a week but like paying off debts - it all helps.
To help me see my goal (just as with the debt), I've written in my diary a rough idea of what weight I should be at each weekly milestone and I don't weigh myself every day, just at weekends. Anyway, despite what the scales say, I feel a bit thinner rund the waist
    £16,500 in debt.
New debt free date: 2015 (was 2046!!).
Thanks MSE for helping me budget and therefore increase payments from £30 per month to £150

    Big Hugs sweetie.

Have you been onto the 'I want it' board? The top sticky thread is all about those of us trying to lose weight. They all seem lovely over there and a great support, just like on here.

Maybe by going onto 'solids' you would enjoy food more, and save money - check out the 'old style' board for great food tips on a budget. Might be cheaper than buying meal replacement drinks, etc.

Well done on th DMP, you are on the road to freedom - it's a long road, but you have lots of friends here to accompany you on that road ;)

  • God do I know how you are feeling,. I am still to sit down and work out exactly who we owe money to and how much!! I am just too down to even think about it. I am struggling with my weight too, did manage to lose 3 stone last year and then managed to put it all back on again over the past 6months. I have been selling everything I can lay my hands on on ebay to see if I can make a little bit to make ends meet. Spent last night and this morning clearing out the loft. Am going to spend the rest of today listing on ebay and I will be just like you then, sitting here watching auctions for that extra 10p etc (as they say, every little helps). It is just so demoralising when you see what others have and can spend who just don't know what it is like to be in this situation. My thoughts will be with you this weekend as I know we will be pretty much doing the same thing!!
Keep your chin up and remember youa re not alone. xx
