  • I've barely ever posted on this site, but here's an announcement!

    :(

I have received emails from GlobalTestMarket telling me that they're shutting down on the 24th of March.

Currently, I have over 500 points in my account, and I have tried to contact the company with a support ticket, only to be told that if I do not cash out by the 24th, my points will be lost. The thing is, I have no chance of reaching the redemption threshold by then! More tickets it is!

I thought that this should be posted here, just in case anyone is able to cash out soon. GTM is still sending me surveys, so there might be hope for some....

    Only for Ireland, I think.

This happened to me about a month ago and also to a friend (I did not realise that she was even a member until I told her what had happened) plus I posted a comment about it on GTM Facebook page and someone else posted they have also been shut down. There is some devious scheme going on with this lot. Too many closures and I have had an account with them for years....and ALL of us had money owing that amounts to a fair bit. If anyone knows of a governing company that covers these type of Survey companies, please let us all know. Otherwise I am contacting Watchdog and if enough people do, GTM will be investigated for their practices

    Yes, Ireland only it seems.

The worst part is that their email mirrors a scam one doing the rounds before, almost identically.

When I contacted them to check this, before writing about it on my website, they advised nothing was closing. It turns out it is the Ireland panel.

I would consider asking them to allow you to cashout one of the lower redemption items. Seems unfair for you to lose everything.

Just a word of warning also to anyone who does Springboard surveys as they are amalgamating with Maximiles which seems ok...until you try to transfer the money over and it doesn't work. Springboard have a £25 minimum so anything under that means you cannot get the money out.. But none of the so called links to get the money transferred to |Maximiles seem to work . Another con? It seems a lot of these survey companies are suddenly folding or preventing people like us retrieving any money at all and so far, I have not heard of anything I can do about it except publicize the facts

Can anyone please advise what Survey sites to go for please? I've done a read through and it seems as though GTM isn't as great anymore as what Martin's article makes out?

No, Global Test Market is not good and has a habit of suddenly closing your account without paying you and uses a flimsy excuse that you have done something to "break their rules" and does not give you any chance to ask why or explain to you why other than "duplicate account" which is a lie. They did this to 2 people I know and another lady contacted me online to say the same had happened to her. I think Money Saving Expert is purely looking at the site as one that appears to offer a lot of surveys and in theory, pays up ok. In practice, it is a different story

Sorry but I cannot agree with this at all. I have a spreadsheet listing all the survey websites I have been and am still a member of. There are far worse; some give you vouchers to redeem against shopping but you have to pay out say £25 to get £5 off and nothing on the list is anything worth buying! Others just enter you in prize draws, some I have been on after being a member for up to 5 years, have never ever been paid out. Survey invites are few and far between. And some I got the initial register points and never gained any points after that!!! The list is endless but I would never unsubscribe from Global Market as I think its brilliant.:T
Wait until they suddenly shut YOUR account down and will not talk to you about why with no reason and keep your money. I had been with them for years with no problem and suddenly, I had a nasty email when I enquired why my surveys had stopped and never got the hard earned money owing. It's happened to too many others and there is NO warning

  • I've just redeemed £25 on GTM, not cashed out yet. I hope for the best.
