Thanks for everyones replys. Everyone seems to be saying GO! but also that Egypt is too too hot. Italy is a good alternative.

Any other suggestions for a sunny and warm location with sandy beaches?

Like others have said, Egypt is likely to be unbearably hot.

I would go to Sardinia - either the Olbia area or near Cagliari. Absolutely gorgeous and you'd think you were on a Caribbean island from the colour of the water

Italy is wonderful. Never been to Sardinia, but have seen the most amazing pictures... I always thought Venice was the perfect place for a honeymoon. There are beaches near there, but whether they are nice or not, I don't know.

Can you think of anything naughty to do on the plane?!!

    Venice is wonderful.
We camped there two years ago at Punta Sabbioni (40 minute boat ride away) and the beach was good and the sea was warm.

Even for cheap skates Venice is really romantic as on a warm summer's evening you can wander the streets, watch other people in gondolas and listen to the musicians at the outside cafe's in St Mark's Square all without paying anything.

I expect for a honeymoon though you would be prepared to splash out a bit more than us, on a hotel at least.

We have decided to fly but not to Egypt. I had no idea how hot Eygpt got in July (40 degrees  - flipping heck!!!). I am now lokking at either Italy or Spain.

Thank you everyone for the all the suggestions.

One more thought... I reallllllllly wanted to go to Kefalonia for our honeymoon, but as we got married in April, the sea wasn't going to be warm enough for CLive to snorkel in... So we went to the Gulf Coast in Florida instead (which was beyond amazing, but an 8 hour flight). Anyway, back to you and July, why not look at some of the Greek islands? If you go to Kefalonia, I'll be so jealous :)
