Morning all
Yucky weather forecast for today but so far it's just a tad windy but the sun is shining....washings on the line and I spent an hour weeding the patio and the veg beds (well they will be veg beds when the veg goes in)
All my seeds are doing well, bit of a late start with them this year due to the house move but better late than never.
DH has 3 demijohns of wine on the go from reduced fruit we picked up last week - the utility rooms smells yummy!
Have dusted and hoovered all through, aired and made the beds and given the kitchen worktops a good going over.....run out of enthusiasm now.
Was hoping the postman would bring the result of our school appeal, but no, just bills....fingers crossed it'll be here tomorrow as DD is getting so wound up by it all....She's got her SATs this week too so trying to keep the mood light...this morning we got her to pick 5 impressive words to use in her English paper, turned those 5 words into a little story about a pig called Percy Plops that likes to chew the corners off exam papers...hopefully she'll remember to put them to good use.
Cheesy cauli and broccoli pasta bake for tea....should have had chicken in it but I forgot to get it out the freezer.....will save the chicken for another meal instead.

Morning.Well its been washing ,washing, washing so far, trying to utilise the strong wind to best advantage.I was a tad worried last night that the new mini greenhouses would end up in the neighbours garden.I've also been sweeping the drive as loads of cr*p blows off the trees, and because its bin day I've given that a swill now its empty,so just having a cuppa.
Didnt get round to the sewing yesterday so must do that today, but I did get to the end of the ironing pile :jOf course,by the end of today there will be some more.It never ends.
Tea is some roast beef in gravy from the freezer.I made some coleslaw last night and added some Morrocan spice mix, walnuts and raisins for a change ,so may have that and some cheese for my lunch.
Hilstep, getting orthotics was one of the best things for me,though I've not got your balance probs I used to get lots of knee pain due to fallen arches and I'm fine now unless I slip and wrench something.I can soon tell if I've not got them in,so hope they help you lots.
Have a lovely day all-good luck to all those doing SATS and exams.x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Afternoon all.
Happy Birthday to Miss SunnyGirl, and very best of luck to all sitting exams in the coming days/weeks.
Mr LW has decided he wants to visit the cinema tonight (I insist that if we go, it's on a Tuesday, as it's cheapie day) so dins tonight will be Sausage Inna Bun, as it's quick to do. I just hope it's not too painful for me to eat, as this ulcer is still giving me hell.
I'm going to be trying to run the fridge down a bit, so that we don't leave anything there that'll go off while we're away. I know there's over two weeks to go, but I don't think it's too early to start doing this.
Not a lot else going on in the Wolf's Lair - I'm feeling decidedly run down at the mo, so not trying to tackle anything that'll drain me further, but I may try for a bit of cross stitch in a bit.
((((HUGS)))) to all who want/need one today. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Afternoon everybody,
Lovely sunny day but very windy...OH is busy mowing the lawn as DS3 put the new belt on the mower last night, wash on line, might do another as I think that we are promised rain to-morrow.
Thunder (male kitten) has to make another visit to the vet this evening, he caught a paw in the back door on Sunday, seemed fine until this morning and is now refusing to put it to the ground, so an appointment has been made for 5 pm. They are so small that it is easy enough to miss them when opening and closing doors.
Out in a bit to water the greenhouse, OH sowed broad beans in there and we have had to stop them to stop them taking over, as there is lettuce, spinach, chard and coriander in there too...he wouldn't be told that beans should be put outside, so guess who has the task of watering to make sure nothing dies!
Roast chicken for dinner to-night, baked potatoes, spinach, carrots and squash and raspberry swirls which Rachel Allen made on Market Kitchen last night....TBH I think that they are just a tarted up version of the raspberry buns I used to make 50 years ago, but OH fancied them so I promised them for pudding tonight.
We finally lit the new wood burner a while ago, seems to be burning nice and slowly, we don't need it for heat at present, just want to see how it works...do have a pot on with water in to put into kettle to boil...there is a large kettle somewhere which I look forward to using when I find it, love to have kettle going all the time without having to turn on electricity, also hope that I will be able to turn off radiator in kitchen when wood burner is going in the winter...thought about removing it but decided that its better to leave it as there will be some heat without using stove if we are out or away.
Should get on, won't get everything I want to do to-day finished otherwise, feel rather comfortable just sitting here is nice....
Have a good day all

Good Afternoon All
Just back from town, spent far too much but what is new there, luckily this is only my second trip since coming back. Found a couple of new Bedsets from TJ Hughes for ours and DS/spare room beds. Will post a piccy when on bed.
Cracked FR eggs (tiny cracks) 50p dozen, ideal for cooking. The nice sausages I get, fruit, £world, and a few other chores. K*****d now.
PippaS - good luck with the caravan search, we are carvanners, and you may wish to try rallying, which is very cost effect method of getting away, and having like minded folk about. Just be careful to have the caravan damp checked. If you want any more info then just PM me, and say what part of the country you are from.
I like my nails done too, but never seem to find the time nowadays. Will someone please kick me into action to sort out all this paperwork.
To those MIA - Please report in and let us know you are OK.

Afternoon all
Just arrived home from work, nothing I like better than working a 9 hour day, hubby is still at work, it's Ofsted again tomorrow, so at lunch time today they decided 6 classrooms need painting! Is there a particular reason why HMI's have atrange names, this is our 2nd & this one's name is ever wierder than the last.
I put DS's washing on the line before I left home this morning, I bet it's all dry now, I'll get it in in a sec. I also have some forgetmenots to plant & then I need to get dressed up, I'm off to the ballet tonight, haven't been for ages so really looking forward to it.
Have a good evening all.
Hugs Hester
