the SAR request is a request for any and all info they hold that relates to you; you don't have to ask for specific pages ! where on earth did you get that idea - maybe one of NID's posts that you misread ?
He has done a few detailed thread's about SAR so have a good read through them.
Most SAR requests require a £10 fee as well. In my opinion they are not really worth doing, for the average Joe in the street.Karma is a wonderful thing.0 -

Yes mate, we have done a SAR thread: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1576035&highlight=sar+request
But main info will be found on our Vanquis; Sub Prime & Sutton Defaults pages as we're using these more nowadays.
I've already explained this to the OP so confused as to why he's started a thread.....?
To clarify, a SAR request only allows for provision of all paper and electronic data including taped recordings and images about a particular data subject (i.e. you!). It does not give provision to supply internal based marketing material that would never usually be seen by you. In that i'm trying to say it isn't really about you - it is general - therefore is not part of DPA and thus exempt from any SAR.
What this means to you is that you can fire away a request for SAR and pay a tenner and all you'll get back is anything the bank has specifically done about the data subject - i.e. you! So you'd get copies of applications; screen prints of accounts; emails about you; statements and anything that directly relates to you. You will not get copies of marketing material that 'may' be suited to you if you apply such as screen print of page 6 & 99.
Waste of time.
Hope this clears it up once and for all.2010 - year of the troll

You won't get screen prints. You will get a computer print out of the information, but it won't be a print of the screen as seen by the staff when they look on the computer. It will be the same information, but in a different format. Similarly, you won't usually get copies of your old bank statements under an SAR request, -you get a long computer print-out instead. Everything is on there, but not in statement/screen print format.0 -
