If you go early the queues are minimal and I think you can only book online if you doing a group booking. Also depending on when you are going ( out of school hols) it is best to go on weekdays.

Hotel Innova without a shadow of a doubt.

Great location and very reasonable prices!!! Have a look at its reviews on tripadvisor, it is around #100 out of 3000 odd in Paris which is superb for a city hotel on a budget.

http://www.timhotel.com/en/home.htm are worth a look. Haven't stayed in one but they look nice rooms. We've just come back from a Eurostar trip - stayed near Gare du Nord - walked everywhere. I booked with Lastminute.com (Quidco) and checked the reviews.

Hi, i thought i would update everyone as i have now booked our hotel. I was looking last night and had a look at the novotel vaurigard on accorhotels.com they had an offer on, which i think finishes 1st June(tomorrow) and i managed to get 3 nights with breakfast for £272!!! Which i think is a brill price.
So i would just like to thank everyone who gave me there thoughts, advice and input and for Malid who recommended the hotel!
    Thanks everyone.
Oh, one more question if someone can kindly answer. Can you book tickets over the internet for the eiffel tower? As mother in law has just come back from Paris and said the queues were enormous!!!

You won't regret chosing the Novotel - rooms are spacious and very clean; breakfast is great. The Metro is about 50 - 100 yds to your left as you walk out of the hotel. if you take a right and walk about 200 - 300 yds down the road, there is a little cafe on the right hand side ( I think it may be near a side street). I can't remember the name but we had a snack (plus jug of wine of course) there on the day we arrived and on another day. Inexpensive and good.

I don't know about booking advance tickets for the Eiffel Tower. I've checked the site and it appears you can only reserve for groups. I recommed you get there as early as possible.

You could always walk up the Eiffel Tower instead of taking the lift. The queues are a whole lot shorter and it's cheaper as well. It's not difficult to climb.
Also, evening is a nice time to go as you can watch the sun set over Paris. Very pretty!
