I just amended my Asda order for next week and the new site is running (for me anyway). Gosh, I'm confused. I'm sure I'll get used to it but I'm not good with change and I found it very hard going.

Had the WORST thing happen to me on Saturday tea time. DD2 (not quite 2 1/2 years old) wandered out of the garden and disappeared. She was only gone a few minutes but it felt like a lifetime. She went out of the garden, up the other end of the road, accross the green and to my friend's front door. My friend didn't know she was there though and wouldn't have heard her if she'd knocked on the door as they were at the back of the house. Luckily a woman up the road saw her and recognised her and went after her. She couldn't catch her as DD2 is too fast and she was running but at least she could see where she was. The lady's sister was in the window and told DH which was she'd gone so he went running after. Can't believe how far she got so quickly. It was the most awful feeling not knowing where she was. Before we knew the lady had seen her I phoned the police even though it was only minutes that she'd been gone but fortunately we got to her very quickly. Thank god we live on a quiet cul de sac. Can't get out of my head all the 'what ifs' and I now feel like a really sh** mum! But she's safe so I just need to keep focusing on that.
Sunnygirl - Please don't feel like a bad mum - you are definetly not! I am sure it happens to most parents at some stage, and it is no reflection on your parenting skills. I used to run a baby/toddler group when dd and ds were little. You can imagine how busy I was, looking after my 2, welcoming new mums, making tea, coffee and juice and making sure there were activities for the toddlers, and lots of toys for the babies. Anyway the next minute I had a tap on the shoulder, and it was the receptionist from this family centre, with dd. She had seen my daughter wander out of the hall, into reception and was heading out of the sliding doors. I had not even realised she had left the hall; it all happened within a minute or so. I felt awful; I got home and cried and cried. The following week the same receptionist told me that it had happened a few times with different children, so the Family Centre decided the doors for the hall were not very safe and they put new ones in that the toddlers were not able to open. Like you said, I kept thinking well at least she is safe and unhurt. I think my dd thought it was one great adventure! I know it is easy to say, but please don't beat yourself up over it. ((hugs)) xx

Toots - thanks for your pm. I will go and look at that thread a bit later; I didnt even realise there was one. Hope you are feeling ok xx

Moneysavinglaura - welcome! I hope you will find the thread as useful as I have. It is really nice to have you on board. I have not been with the thread that long, but the flyladies are so helpful, supportive and so kind, and I don't think you will find another thread like it. xx

I am going to get on with some flying now. See you later xx

Afternoon all, sorry I was awol last week. Not sure what went on with me, think I had a major case of CBA :( And I didn't get any flying done after Monday's eager start.. Still feeling a bit groggy after wacking my head on the fridge door while stocking the freezer on Saturday, but thankfully not as bad as it was. Dh thinks I was definately concussed by the force I hit it :( And then today while making myself a salad for lunch I managed to splice a bit of my thumb off with my new knived.. All okay now though..

I've had Dh at home today as he is working from home, well he was earlier, then he had to go out to a client for a couple of hours but is back now and snoozing in the armchair..:rotfl:Thank gods he goes back to the bank tomorrow and I can get on with my bits and bobs without anyone under my feet..:rotfl:

Hugs to everyone that needs/wants them

Pigpen hope you feel better soon *hugs*

Back from Tumbletots, dont think we will be going again as it isnt what my LO expected,he has seen the ads on TV where it is all climbing and jumping etc but they only got to go on the equipment for 2 mins, the whole session only lasted 25 mins I was shocked, spent the whole time stopping him from going on the equipment and he just got more and more upset, spent over an hour in tears:confused::confused:,I so dont want to see him like that,so we may try swimming instead next week.

Am going to fetch washing in now while he is with his grandad and put another load out.

Sunnygirl, how scary for you about your LO, but glad she is back home safely! Sounds like you have good neighbours too. You are NOT a bad mum, it’s happened to me as a little girl. My mum and nan both went home from shopping thinking me and my sister were with the other one! And I got lost in Sainsbury’s once. It happens, don’t worry. The main thing is to work out how she got out the house and make sure she can’t get out again!

Love your list Jo! It’s so funny and so true! Hang in there babe, you can do it. No crying til you are in the car or at home. We all love you, you can do it.

Abbie, great news on the scan xx

    Hugs Toochoosey

    Welcome MSLaura

Hugs Natty, take care of yourself!

Mummyof5 why wouldn't they let him on the equipment? Sounds really mean of them!

Toots, you are right, his good qualities far outweigh his bad habits, and I’m sure I will feel a lot better when I see him later. He phoned me a minute a go to see how my meeting went which was sweet.

Well, the meeting was stressful and intense. My manager was quite defensive, but she explained a lot of things, so I understand a lot more about how things work in the team and in the training process so that’s good. I was able to make the points I needed to, and I think it was a very useful meeting. It’s cleared up a lot of issues for me. They did raise one concern that has been brought up by my colleagues, which completely took me by surprise, but I was able to answer it and put their minds at rest. I really wanted to cry after, but kept it together as I had to wait in the room with them for the team meeting!

It’s cleared the air which is the main thing. I don’t really know if I will be getting any work any time soon, as I still haven’t finished training and they don’t seem to be in any rush to get my training finished, but that’s up to them. I’ve done all I can.

Am going to have a nap now, I’m completely worn out. Sorry I haven’t done any flying today. I’m sure I will be up to doing some later and tomorrow tho

    RANT ALERT!

Im really shocked....... Ive just been on the Netmums website looking for things to do with the little one in May half-term.

Now, I dont know about your kids, but everytime the Haven advert comes on, my LO thinks its great and wants to go - hes never been. Now I went to Butlins a few times when I was a kid and I hated it! If we are gonna go on holiday I want it to be hot and sunny......

Anyway, I had a look cos it was advertised on the netmums site, £910!!!! for me and the little one to stay in a sodding caravan for a week! I dont think so!!!!!!! There were cheaper ones admittedly - but still!!!

I even the cheaper ones were £300-£400 a week. I could get a fortnight in Spain for that price!!!!!

    xx

I'm certainly enjoying today Natts - the weather is glorious. I'm not actively looking at the moment -I'll leave that until I get back from IOW (I go on Saturday). But, whilst lazing about on the sun lounger reading a specialist mag I get on subscription, I spied an interesting article which has opened up an 'opportunity' so I'm researching that now, in between doing the kitchen. It wouldn't pay mega bucks but it would be another income stream - and I could do it from home :D

Rosep - well done on getting the air cleared and staying strong. Hope your nap helps.

Third load of washing is almost dry and there's a fourth in the machine. I'm dragging all sorts out!
