I got one for £30 from Makro a couple of years back, mainly for my PC but now I have a laptop, and a spare screen sitting on my desk, I bought a cable for my 360 to connect to the monitor. Looked good, but no sound! I bought a £1.98 (off eBay) 2 phono to one 3.5mm cable and hey presto! Never befoe have I heard Niko change gears on GTA IV! Highly reccommend getting a surround sound system and the Panasonic one looks very good for the money...

The only thing I would mention is they loose their value quite quickly so perhaps you could buy an even better second hand one off eBay for the £100? Just a suggestion...

good grief £100 !!! anything you get for that will not be surround sound or very poor representation of it .

    if you want 5.1 you need a Amp + 1 center speaker + 2 surrounds + 2 rears + 1 subwoofer + coax or toslink cable + subwoofer lead + speaker cable .
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:

    The OP has got £100

Could you provide a link to a decent system with those components for £100??

If not, it's kind of a pointless post.

haha tell me about it, why do people bother posting nonsense

we all know what you need for 7.1 and 5.1

but surround sound can be defined as sound surrounding you so that system will do fine:P despite it not being true surround sound

I suppose its down to wether the OP wants sound quality or the 'illusion' of surround sound
Personally I go for 'quality' every time

    well i agree kind of

my system which is similar has the 2 channel stereo option which sounds great for tc and music but the surround option is quite good for films, i agree not on par with a proper system but its a bit of both worlds on a budget
