Laptop needed with Intel Core 2 duo/HDMI - <£400

want a budget laptop for under £400 with intel core 2 duo and with hdmi output as main criteria- i want to watch movies on my tv

any advice

i have seen the dell inspiron but does not have the hdmi output

any help appreciated

    my opinion, use different connectivity and get better specs elsewhere

    your not going to get a new laptop with hdmi for that price that will be reliable etc.

    why not go for one with a vga or dvi port instead? My lcd has a vga as do most. its not terrible quality, same as a tft monitor so look at the back of your tv for one of these ports.

    I just bought a Sony Vaio FW21L dual core Intel, Blue Ray, Bluetooth, HDMI socket, 250 GB hard drive 3GB memory 16.9 screen reduced from £699 to £283 in my local Tesco. Don't know if every branch has them or how many are left but if you live near one, it's worth having a look

    I'd Take this advice, Not alot of Budget laptops come with new equipment. Mine just cost me £700 Acer Aspire 8930G.

    that is very good but its because its an out of date model now all the fw series are fw31's nowadays.

    you suggested it and i merely said its a good find and commented on why its so cheap

    so im confused, what doesnt conform?

    Does your TV have a VGA input? You can also get vga to dvi cables, you may be able to get vga to hdmi...

    it does have vga but that doesnt transfer sound through the tv- i do have a surround sound panasonic home theatre system - could i connect it to that for the sound- if so how?
