my opinion, use different connectivity and get better specs elsewhere
your not going to get a new laptop with hdmi for that price that will be reliable etc.
why not go for one with a vga or dvi port instead? My lcd has a vga as do most. its not terrible quality, same as a tft monitor so look at the back of your tv for one of these ports.Back by no demand whatsoever.0 -
I just bought a Sony Vaio FW21L dual core Intel, Blue Ray, Bluetooth, HDMI socket, 250 GB hard drive 3GB memory 16.9 screen reduced from £699 to £283 in my local Tesco. Don't know if every branch has them or how many are left but if you live near one, it's worth having a look0

Does your TV have a VGA input? You can also get vga to dvi cables, you may be able to get vga to hdmi...Ubuntu is an ancient African word, meaning: 'I can't configure Debian'.0

it does have vga but that doesnt transfer sound through the tv- i do have a surround sound panasonic home theatre system - could i connect it to that for the sound- if so how?0
