    no, ultimately they are the same technology, with dual core having a few cut backs (cache), which wont really play as much of a role as clock speed in the real world (but there are always exceptions).

    Is there any reason you seemed to have ignored post #2? meets your criteria :)

    I think the only difference between core 2 duo and dual core is that core 2 duo has a faster clock speeds, everything else is still the same , and its built in the same way

    Core Duo processors are 32 bit, whereas Core 2 Duo processors are 64 bit. It won't really make much of a difference to most people at this point in time.

    Is watching movies the only thing you want it for?

    No-one mentioned Core Duo :) just c2d and dc

    both c2d and dc are 64bit.

    I really want core 2 duo-post no 2 is dual core

    i will keep looking- hdmi is the problem as it is on very few laptops at this price
