I hope you enjoy your Kenwood.
I have one and use it daily but I'm a creature of habit so never got round to using most of the attachments. After about 2 years with them filling a drawer I sold the individual attachments on *bay and altogether got back more than the original cost of the mixer.
I do use mine for pastry with good results for me, however, I can't compete with MIL.
aims for 2014 - grow more fruit and veg, declutter0 -
Fantastic! I love it when you wish you had bought something years ago, I use my FP a lot, mostly for grating cheese and slicing veg for soup but it really comes into its own with pastry - I hate having to put my hand in the mix when the water goes in!!
I have just bought 2 cast iron casserole dishes and wonder how I managed without them!

I used to have a food processor, but it broke a few years ago and I've never been able to afford a new one. Things changed a while ago when my DH inherited some money, so when our kitchen is changed I'm going to buy myself a new one. Which model did you buy?0

I have a kenwood of some description but whenever i try and grate stuff a load of it gets left on top of the disc ungrated rather than going through. Does anyone have any tips?May spend - £291.40/£320.00
June spend - £106.40/£320.000 -
I treated myself to a fp last year and I use it nearly every time I cook.
Mine comes with three graduated bowls which means I don't think twice about using it for the smallest amount of prep
That and my stick blender are my most used gadgets. The kenwood chef sits in a cupboard never used0 -

I've got an old Kenwood fp that was my dads. He died 10 years ago, so gawd knows how old it is! I've been looking for a new one though, as I've noticed it smells a bit smokey when I use it now.
Also, I want one where the blades etc fit inside the base of the processor. With the one I have atm, all the bits are kept in a box and I can never get them in the box well enough to close the lid, so it clutters up my cupboard.
It is great for chopping and slicing large quantities though.0 -
Which one have you got?
It's the middle sized magi mix. It was very heavily discounted when I bought it, and not really my first choice of colour. But it sits nice and small in the corner of my work top so I use it constantly
Today I used it to slice a few pound of onions, made 3 batches of pastry, grated a block of cheese and made a pound of butter0 -
2child mum. I know what you meen. My ones great but when I grate cheese lumps always get stuck at the top It's a nuisance but still quicker than grating it all by hand. Useful tips anyone to counteract that problem?0
