Has she definitely put the correct WPA key in?Dave. :wave:0
-
yes phantom its right0

So the Xbox picks up her router OK, but won't connect after the WPA key is entered?
Did she set up the router herself? Was MAC filtering set up on the router?Dave. :wave:0 -
yes she set it up herself but has no idea about mac filtering can you explain
please0 -
If she has no idea about the MAC filtering, then she hasn't set it up so it won't matter.
Is the Xbox the only thing trying to connect wirelessly to the router?Dave. :wave:0 -
MAC Address is the unique identifer for every Networked Device on the Internet. On your Router it will ask you if you want to allow certain MAC Addresses to access you network. If this setting is turned on the it will more then likely deny access for the XboxPeter: Hey Lois... what's this word? Lois: Evil. Peter: And this one? Lois: Knievel. Peter: And this one? Lois: Was. Peter: And this one? Lois: Born. Peter: And this one? Lois: In.
Peter: And this one? Lois: Montana. Peter: Ah... oh, hey Lois did you know Evil Knievel was born in Montana? Family Guy - I Take Thee, Quagmire 04x210 -
yes it is set to b and g and wpa encryption and the rear usb plug is being used as this is he one recommended.
you can plug the adapter into any of the 3 usb ports, only reason why it may have been reccommended is that the back usb port has 2 holes or notches where the adapter just slots into, i was thinking that if the back usb port is duff tehn you could use 1 of the front 2 or use 1 of the front to see if the adapter works,0 -
phantom the only thing she is trying to connect is the xbox, nothing else. I think that that particular router is not compatible but I dont know for sure.0

If the Xbox is seeing the router, the USB port should (hopefully) be OK.
Certainly no harm in trying though.Dave. :wave:0 -
DCFC will get her to try one of the front usbs.tomorrow and see what happens.
Oh when the xbox tries to connect it doesnt pick up an ip address this seems to be the prob. Sorry this is so difficult, If I was with her it would be so much easier as I am a little more technically minded than her. And I would have a go.0
