Well - thats another fabric covered notebook done -seemed to take forever as the fabric kept fraying...........found some sort of plastic backed linen finish stuff I'd got and covered the inside of the front and back covers with that to hide my flaws.........this one will be a journal for my friend for next year. Just need to put some decoration on it now.:jMary

Afternoon everyone,
I love the name 'Giggle', what made you change from your other one?
Rufusdog, sending hugs your way, sorry to hear the news.
JordanShannon - very impressive lists I can see you like Halfcost LOL You've got a right bargain with that foot cosy.
I still haven't got round to watching the Twilight DVD, not enough time. Yes, that bloke looks nice (and young!) but what is it with these big woolly hats they all seem to wear? I don't like them.
mary43 - you mentioned a free teabag - I've received a lot of Redbush freebies and had to give them away - find them too yukky to drink. What type did you receive?
janey - so you're writing the cocktail books yourself? Or is it like a scrapbook?
I haven't done anything practical today, just been reflecting on ideas.0 -
Angela - it was a Lipton infusion, Lemon &Ginger. I'm not a tea drinker but always send for free samples...........my youngest son loves tea and will try any of them so they're always handy to pop in his shoe box of 'odds and sods'Mary

Hugs Rufus - I cried for ages when my mum lost our dog and I'd left home years before.
I was useless for rudolph day- but have been better today - got southpark DVD today in Tesco for £2.70 and pack of books for £3 that should have been £14.99. I've also just been up to look in my boxes and must really stop buying stiff because it's a bargain - I have a box of stuff for no one in particular so will make sure I stick to my lists in future.
Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

Twilight reading people - i got the first 3 books off redhouse i think it was for £7.99 a few months back for a birthday present for my sister - so if anyones looking for any books there might be a place to look
Thanks who ever mentioned the bargain sections on hmv and play
Had a quick mooch last night and found the Every which way but loose and the other film in a box set for £4.99 - But ordered it off Amazon because it was a penny cheaper and every penny counts and well if i save the pennies Ill be able to buy myself a fredo or something (actually im not buying any more freddos even though cadburys apologised and sent a voucher)
Think Ive rambled on for long enough now - off to pick something nice off my to do list to do before dinner

Christmas Eve Traditions
What Christmas Eve traditions did you have as a child or have now?Or even have created for your children?
Me and mr phunkles where discussing spending our first Christmas and therefore Christmas Eve together this year (actually on the same time zone and country tis very exciting) when he mentioned his familys christmas eve traditions now i dont mean to be a snob or horrible but i dont like them - i much prefer mine so how do i go about telling him i dont wanna do his :rotfl:and that mine are what i like?
Oh for comparison
His - nothing special all day just a normal day, then an earlyish dinner of whatever and then the cinema to watch any film (NOT the latest christmas release either just whatevers on) then home maybe a takeaway of some sort depending on hunger, opening one present (before Santa comes I dont get this one) then bed
Mine - prepare veg and sucherys for the next day (his is done xmas morning), make mince pies and jam tarts, a dinner of whatever, early showers, New PJ's for everyone (wrapped up of course), a christmas film or 2with Jam tarts and milk
(or mince pies for those that like) one of those carols from a cathedral thing (note to self if Alder Hey do one this year do not watch unless i want to cry) then bed. With a christmassy cd playing in the background all day
I think the only thing I want to steal off his is the takeaway but I love Christmas Eve I love the whole run up to Christmas and Christmas Eve is the pinnacle of the run up
Or am I just being selfish - and slightly silly for even worrying over this in May :rotfl:Love is the answer. At least for most of the questions in my heart,
Like why are we here? And where do we go?And how come it's so hard?

(who has the same first name as Twilight's author and is loving the books and reading...not having been much of a reader up until quite recently)Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear0 -
Hi all
Phunkles -
When you mentioned you will be in the same country and time zone, does that mean you will literally be together and usually you're not? If it was me I would just tell him what I normally do and expect him to fall in with it. If he didn't like it, then you could compromise no doubt.
Re question about Christmas Eve traditions.. My family are Polish so I never celebrated Christmas Day. The C.Eve was the biggie - loads of courses of meatless dishes and presents, singing carols under the tree. It was only when I got married that I started making a traditional English Christmas dinner and celebrating it in the usual manner. So my children always had the Polish Christmas as well as the English one.
How did you get on with your things to do before dinner Phunkles?0
