Hello everyone, Happy Rudolph Day!
Mel - thank you so much for organising Rudolph Days. This is my first one and am so glad I can be Christmassy with like minded people and get excited. I also love your curtain ring sticker organiser.
Janey - I love the idea of a cocktail book, keep us posted with how it's going.
Reading your coffee discussions, Poundland sell Nescafe.
Rufus - wow, you are super organised.
My update...
I had a very long day yesterday, was up at 4.30am to help my friend and her fiancee with a boot sale. It was gorgeous weather for it, absolutely lovely and I definitely caught the sun. After taking off the cost of the pitch and the float, they made about £30 and £14.80 of that was sales I'd made so I'm very pleased with my contribution!
I found some great things for pressies; a transparent blue vase for £1 that I am going to give to my boyfriend's mum for her birthday (she loves this particular shade of blue), a stunningly gorgeous pink piggy bank shaped like a handbag with gems and embellishments on it for £1 that I am going to give my boyfriend's sister for Christmas and a very small wicker hamper/basket with a lid that someone gave me for free. It is very small, ideal for little nick nack type presents. I am definitely going to try and source more presents from boot sales to save money.
After the boot sale, I went to my boyfriend's mum's house for a family birthday. My boyfriend took his camera and his four year old nephew and five year old neice took quite a liking to it, we have some absolutely lovely photos that they took and some funny ones too. I am planning on attempting scrapbooking and am going to make a family one for my boyfriend's mum for Christmas and we have some great photos from last night that I can use. If anyone is planning on making a similar thing I definitely recommend letting the little ones take some photos as some of them are great, although it's an idea to make sure they don't press any wrong buttons and that they don't drop it!
I slept in this morning as I was exhausted after yesterday. My boyfriend has four nieces and nephews under the age of ten and they spent the whole evening glued to me; from eating cake, doing the washing up, to finding bugs in the garden and helping one of them with their reading. I was shattered when we got home!
I am going to spend this afternoon watching the Christmas craft show on QVC and doing today's Rudolph challenges, I will keep you all posted with my progress.
Christmas wishes and kisses to you all,
Lucy x0 -
InkedKitten What do you mean until November.. the decorations are usually in the shops by september LOL I am glad you came out of lurkdom today.. how is the precious notebook and obsessive listing coming along?
Lucy I really want to go to a car boot now! Will have to pop to one soon and see if I can get any bargains. When I last went people were asking crazy prices for things! It's not like the good old days :rotfl: I think the best birth control is to leave you with loads of kids all day so I hope you learnt your lesson LOL if you need any help with scrapbooking just let me know
I am off to get some things done and watch QVC now YAY:T

Happy Rudolph Day Everyone!
Mel, I was looking forward to your post and when I saw it knew that I wouldn't be able to concentrate until I had done the one chore I promised myself I'd do today. So after that was done, I was then able to relax and enjoy!
Thanks so much for the Baileys ingredients. Yes, they are now written down.
I've now got all necessary ideas for birthdays in June and a UFO xstitch card which I'll try and find the threads for TODAY but not sure now if I'll finish it in time as it was far more fiddly than I expected and I dread doing it..
Father's Day - my ex during all our marriage, never bought occasion or Christmas cards for anyone. So I'm still getting his family ones as well as my own.
For presents nowadays I usually only buy something smallish, this year it will probably be 2 pots of gold, might be done in gift bags not containers.. In my dad's case ' seeds of gold'as he shouldn't have too much chocolate but loves sunflower seeds, dry fruit etc - add some scratch cards etc. It's got to the stage that whatever I used to get him, he no longer needs, does, is allowed to eat or drink. And he's so busy all the time, that other types of gifts won't even be opened. So what is left? At least with the pot of gold I know he'll eat it..But I might change my mind if I overhear him talking about something he is wanting to get for himself..
I laughed when I read about the person finding over 1000 cards.
My son's 21st coming up, I'll probably give money towards his bikes as he does long distance racing and a pot of gold unless there is anything else he wants.. For Christmas I'm thinking of making some alcoholic drinks for him plus herbal vinegars etc as he likes to cook.
There is also a child's birthday on the same day as my son's in July, one of ex's distant relatives that I always buy for. I'm completely out of touch of what 6/7 yrs old boys like and would be easy to post. So will have to think about that.
Christmas - I have one idea and will have to see how it can be adapted. We're Polish and my mother is a brilliant cook, however, there is one dish that mum always has trouble with and wishes she knew the secret so she never makes it.. So I might experiment and make some in advance plus make up a cooking/baking hamper for her.
Hope you are all having a good day.0 -

Hi Inkedkitten,
I know what you mean about mentioning Christmas "too early"!
I loved the glitter pack too, did you get it? I have been really good and only ordered one thing (well, so far anyway!), I ordered the plain red and green cards and envelopes but when I was on the phone they were showing the glitter pack and I wish I'd ordered it too, if the lady had asked me if I wanted anything else I'm sure I would have given in lol.0
