Julie - great ideas - will deff be using them... my hubby is liquorice mad, so i'll be replacing it with liquorice *think someone suggested that on your blog - but will keep the coal for my grandad with his coal fire he'll see the novelty in it - after all he's a 88 year old man who still hangs his stocking with an apple and orange in it, gran put coal in last year - but this will be such a novelty he'll love it...

I was going to ask - do you mind if i use the little poem you have used for your coal? wouldn't want to just use it without asking..

PLM - well - i've only done a couple of cards here and there and i'm desperate to become addicted to scrapbooking - i'm addicted at looking - but scared to start incase i mess it up - booooo.... so i think i'll erm stick to close family who I know will apprecate them....

Hmm i'm going to aim for 10 just now - but I know i'll need more - I want to make a box full for mum as part of her xmas gift too - eek is that being too optimistic? HA!

This one and many of the other's are from another forum im on

Wrap a dishcloth and dish towel in a large and pretty box with this note attached:

This Christmas our ship has finally come in
We're feeling so wealthy and rich.
    Instead of some small remembrance
This year will be quite a switch

We're giving a gift of high quality
No more cheap presents for us.
It's time we really went all out
But don't worry, its really no fuss.

We considered giving you a sports car
Or maybe a tropical cruise ---
But we decided to be more practical
And give something you really could use.

So, open the box and you may be surprised,
To find not ONE gift, but two
We hope you will put your presents to work
    It's a WASHER & DRYER, too!!!!

Make a lovely little box and and add a tag with a poem on there is nothing in the box

This is a very special gift that you can never see.
The reason it's so special is it comes to you from me.
Whenever you are lonely and feeling down and blue,
you only have to hold this gift and you know i think of you.
You never can unwrap it, please leave the ribbon tied.
Just hold the box close to your heart, its filled with love inside.

    Angel Dust:
Put large iridescent glitter in a small zip lock bag with the poem below and use a small angel rubber stamp for an accent with the poem.

    Within this little bag
    Placed with loving care,
    Is special angel dust
    My Guardian placed there.
It is to share with special friends
When they're down or feeling blue,
To lift their heart and share a smile
    As special friends should do.

Julie - thanks for reminding me about the washer/dryer...........lol Already got a tea towel for sons girlfriend -just need a wash up cloth now........lol

Will copy and paste verse and hope printer works tomorrow. It prints out then stops and says 'paper jammed' when there isn't so I have to unplug it and hope it forgets all that nonense and works next day..........lol

Just remembered something I did last year with a pencil but cant think what it was called. It had a rubber one end and I stuck label saying 'delete' there and at the point 'enter'...........think it was for if computer broke down...........lol
It's on the 2008 thread somewhere

    Santa's Stinky Socks

    What you Need:

    Pair of Decorative Christmas Socks
    Pot Pourri
    Curling Ribbon

    What to Do:

Stretch out those holiday socks, tug and pull. Fill with Potpourri until firm.
Using the curling ribbon, tie off the top and leave some ribbon hanging decoratively.

    Attach a cute tag:

    "Santa's Stinky Socks"
On Christmas Eve I crept downstairs
    Just to have a peek
And there was Santa on my chair
    Warming up his feet
His shoes and socks were on the floor
    When old Rudolph shouted ‘Please’
Hurry up we’ve work to do
And our hooves have started to freeze
So Santa jumped up quick and fast
Grabbed his things as he headed out the door
But he raced out to his sleigh
He dropped this sock onto my floor
Now when you visit our house
Just look what’s on our tree
It’s a very special Christmas sock
It belonged to Santa once – you see
