Me too  Just been checking forum rules & comps should be open to all, so if this is very restricted perhaps they shouldn't be on here?

    Hiya all,

Trouble is that i've noticed more of this type of comp recently and some have been being posted for ages, RAC members only, Sky customers only, Lewis Hamilton's fan club, all of which you have to pay to join and all of which remain posted.

So if we are complaining / questioning these then it could effect the rest.

Dont get me wrong, i'm not for or against but i think we must be consistant with the approach.:D

As for £15 - i wouldn't even consider it
    Thoughts:

I think that all of the comp's on the main board should be free to enter

I also think that if you have paid a subscription charge to be a member then you would already know about the competitions without them being posted on the MSE comps board

and by posting purchase necessary comps on the board it's is tempting people to subscribe or buy products to enter

as MSE Andrea has previously said in a sticky

"Just a reminder that this board's for comps that don't cost anything to enter. If there's a no purchase necessary route that's fine but other than that we don't want to encourage people to spend money entering something they aren't guaranteed to win.

To clarify, I'm re-iterating what Martin's said when he first set the board up, that where possible competitions should be entirely free to enter, but that some cost, such as a stamp, a postcard or a text are fine as obviously these can be done free eg if you have inclusive texts on your phone.
    "

having said this maybe the above type of comps could have there own thread where they could be posted  something similar to the Postal, Text and Phone Competitions

But on this thread, she said

So saying purchase comps are allowed, as you may be planning on buying it anyway.

Sky/RAC type comps, I don't consider an issue, as I don't get told about them, except on here.

I still think that the main comps board should be for free to enter comps only

I'm not against purchase necessary comps but if they are to be allowed then I think that they should be in a thread on there own,

I just wish the BG's and the MSE hierarchy would make there minds up! as to what is and is not allowed MSE Andrea has in my opinion further muddied the waters and just made things more complicated

I think I will have to join you Al on the BG's naughty step for the rest of the evening :rotfl:

Any of you experienced compers had anything to do with Betfair.com?

Only ask because i've just posted a couple of comps on FanvFan site which is theirs. All NPN but it does say: By entering any of these competitions you are agreeing to receive marketing communications from Betfair and companies in its group including any joint ventures. You can opt out of this at any time by following the unsubscribe link on any of our emails or by calling our Helpdesk on 0844 871 0000. Your data will be not be shared with any 3rd parties other than companies within Betfair’s group and will be handled in accordance with Betfair’s privacy policy.

Just wondered as there have been a couple of comps recently via newspapers that were sponsored by Betfair
