So what tends to be the best sites/mags/newpapers..... when it comes to winning. Yeah i know its all luck, but is there one that seems to stand out from the rest?

I've only been entering comps for around 9 months but personally, I've had my best wins on Radio Station websites. Also, anything that requires a bit of effort - like writing a sentence/100 words about a given subject, taking a photo, etc. A lot less people seem to enter these comps and often I find these are the best prizes. I think it can become fustrating if you expect to win. I just do it for something to do when I'm in the house watching tele. Anything I do win is just a great bonus. I also don't enter comps unless I actually want the prize. I don't really want to get an e-mail saying I've won a prize, get all excited and then see it's a book about carpet cleaning or something. Make sure you enter comps where the prize would make your day/month/year. Good luck!!! Don't forget to download Roboform - it will save you getting repetitve strain injury from filling your name and address in hundreds of times a week.

Not yet the middle of the month and I'm running out of space in my signature. We're not allowed more than 6 lines. What am I gonna do *when* I win more prizes?

I know it's unlikely I will ever win

  • Afternoon everyone! :hello:

Just started comping this week and was just wondering how soon everyone started getting wins? I know its all down to luck but is interesting to find out if people won big or little when they first started out!

Chances are the comps you've entered haven't even ended yet, you need to have patience or you will soon lose heart and give up.

When I first started comping a few years back it took me approx 4 weeks for my first win. I came back to comping towards the end of last year and got my first win within a couple weeks.
:T*Thanks to all who posts comps * :j

Yeah I know none of them will have finished yet, and dont worry I have plenty of patience! I'm just doing them as a hobby really, anything I do win is a bonus :money:
Was just wondering out of interest about other peoples experiences when they first started out :o

  • thriftykitty - I started near the beginning of Nov 2009 and in Nov/Dec won about 10 prizes, .. small things such as books and cosmetic items. Then this month so far I have won £100 (very chuffed with this!!). I enter between 20 and 100 a day. If you enjoy it, keep up with it :)
