I'm probably being dim but what is a hotlink? There's a thread saying don't do it but how do I avoid doing it if I don't know what it is!

Wow, I would just like to say that after comping for over a year now, I have only just discovered the benefits of using Roboform!! It's fantastic and makes comping a lot quicker! Can enter twice as many comps now! No more tedious form filling anymore! I know there have been other posts singing the praises of Roboform but I was always slightly dubious. Signed up for the free trial last night and will definitely be buying the software when the trial ends. Just wanted to share that with you!

I'm glad that admin has reinforced this point.I've always felt it was covered in this post re copying text......... http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1148799
I lot of people copy pictures directly from the promotors sites and post them on here.Some of the regulars have started to use stock/copyright pictures so maybe this gets round the hotlinking problem but I remain doubtful.
Each to their own but I've not tended to post large amounts of text or pictures but when I've mentioned this I felt I was knocked back.Hopefully we wll all adhere to this admin rule as not do so may put the future of this section of MSE in jeopardy.
I'd not imagine that the smileys etc are covered by this and should be ok.

Lol, I dont actually get that much spam on the BT Account,, But I too can access my Hotmail and my BT Account from anywhere including from my Blackberry.. And i have all my emails filtered to my Blackberry

Yeah I think I remember you politely pointing out that it's better to link than to copy huge chunks of text and some people said 'everyone else does it', thats doesn't make it right though. I agree with you.

The other problem I see with posting a load of text in a comps post is that any comments can be lost off the screen view.I can be a bit quick when entering and have missed relevant comments because they are way down the page behind a big picture and loads of text.
