Does anyone have a link to guidelines on posting competitions before they start? - I just posted the Dave/Bulldog comp but it was swiftley merged into a post started 16 days ago (comp only opened at noon today). Is there any limits to what can be posted before a competition starts. E.g. is there anything to stop someone posting the gmtv & itv comps when the details are release on their respective websites on a Friday for competitions starting the following Monday?

    TIA

The ITV and GMTV comps are regularly posted by the same people, who stay in every day of every week to watch the programmes and post the answers. It's much easier that they stay with the same, regular posters, otherwise there will be numerous duplicates and it will create a lot of work and hassle for the board guides.

A lot of competitions are posted when the publicity starts on packaging etc - generally the ones which don't require answers. The titles of these usually read 'starts XX/XX'.

Not sure if there are any guides to the others. I, for one, think it's quite good to be given a 'heads up' on some of the comps, so if they're requiring packaging/codes I have a few days to find some, or perhaps change my weekly shop to include the products with the codes.

Painkiller - I posted the Dave/Bulldog comp. up a couple of weeks ago because I received a newsletter telling me that it was going to start and to enter it into my diary so as not to forget. Well, me being me, I forget my own name sometimes, so I posted it on here, with explicit instructions typed in bold red letters that it started on 15 October, to help me remember to enter it. I didn't know there were any rules about posting up a comp. before it is due to start. I have seen it done a few times on here, so was just copying the rest. If you had searched with the words Dave and Bulldog it would/should have shown up in the search facility.

EDIT: I am even more confused than normal. Just checked my Dave/Bulldog comp. and there is no merge on it. Painkiller - your comp. is a totally different comp. with different end date. Where did you see it was swiftly merged?
We could all learn a little something from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.

OK, I need to rant. The Ford/Disneyland comp - what a farce. I didn't enter due to the fact you needed 2 x under 12's and my DS was 12 before comp finished. Now I find out that they've changed the T&C's to suit as so many people ignored the 'rules' and have won. By complaining they've changed it to 1 x under 12. How is that fair? I could have entered and then joined all the others to fight for it to be changed. But no I played fair.....
I've been before (lucky I know) so I'm not jealous - just annoyed. These people entered and didn't even read the T&C's right.

OK, don't feel better but needed to get that out! Thank you.
Thank you to everyone who posts comps! :A
    I would like to be lucky,healthy & happy in 2020! :T

hmm, was wondering about that as well, does everyone think it's a bit silly to keep posting the comps in postals
if they're not going to be any good ? seems a bit pointless typing them out when/if they go on strike

well you never know it may not happen yet m but it looks like they will.
guess some people will still post stuff to try and win and hope it does not go in the bag in storage by them
