So I can see if I've entered before, see what comps are near the end (so I may win??)and to show what I've been doing for the last three days!!!!!

But why do a spreadsheet? You can sort the forum in date order then go to the comps ending soon. You can click the thanks button to show that you have entered and/or subscribe to the thread which will put a little tickbox on the thread for you. That way you spend more time comping than you do filling in a spreadsheet xx
You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

I keep records of my wins on a spreadsheet, plus a tally of how many competitions I've entered each day.... well actually, the tally starts off on a scrap of paper, then I transfer the daily totals onto the spreadsheet every couple of days.
:T*Thanks to all who posts comps * :j

I don't bother keeping a record of what I have entered anymore as I enter nearly every comp on MSE it would be far too time consuming

I do however use a program called MiTaggedMarks which is excellent for keeping track of competitions see: http://www.mitaggedmarks.com/ it's kind of a ready made database,

I tend now to use it only to tag and bookmark the daily, weekly, and monthly comps from the regular board so that they are all together in one place and are easily accessible

in the description I put the name of the site and prize detail example - (4thegame.com - Rush: The Autobiography Book) and the end date of the comp in the comment box and tag it with either daily, weekly or monthly and when I have entered a comp I put an E next to the date to show that I have entered the comp

you could if you wanted use it to keep track of every competition that you have entered
  • alohahawaii, if I may offer you some advice, if I were you this is what I'd do:

Send an email to your boss, HR Manager, IT manager or whoever is responsible for the Company's internet policy (this will depend on your company's set-up, size of business etc). Ask them in simple terms whether it would be acceptable for you to use the internet for personal use during your lunch-break.

When you get the reply (hopefully 'yes'!) print off and keep a copy.

If you're allowed, comp to your heart's content during lunch, hopefully win lots of comps.

Keep the email confirming you have permission. If anything comes of it later on, you'll have evidence you're in the clear. You never know, green-eyed colleagues might just drop you in it if they see you on the computer every lunch break.

I know this sound like a bit of an overkill, but better safe than sorry. It'll only take two minutes to fire off the email :D

    Hope this helps.

I didn't ask for advice on my companies internet policy thank you...

Right, I am just really getting into this comping lark :) . Can any body give me some hints and tips on what I should be doing. Should I have a seperate email address for comping? Is it worth getting a cheap PAYG mobile for comping?

Any other things I should be doing? I have started to read the FAQ's thread :)
