I understand now, they have taken there competition off there site but are still receiving email entries for the competition,

so it is quite understandable them querying why they are still receiving entries for the competition

I have PM'd a BG to move the comp to GO

It is in GO now, it wasn't when I found it as I was working my way through competitions time, so Amilucky's pm has got it moved I guess

The competiton wasn't in GO it was one that slipped through the net and was still in competitions time,

if you check the thanks for the comp Here you will see that it was still receiving thanks as mse'rs where still entering the comp

it has now been posted to Go :rolleyes:

It does make you wonder doesn't it? In theory, with all of the rules and regulations governing comps it shouldn't happen, but in practice? You can picture them drawing you out and saying here's a comper, they're not having it. Personally I would start a new (comp free) email account, you've got nothing to lose and maybe lots to win

LOL! I was wondering the same thing AL Mac. I have an email starting with COMP and have been lucky to get quite a few WEMs in the past few weeks. Surely they shouldn't read the email addy first as it's all random? Yes, I know, I'm too naive! Will try using my other addy see if that makes a difference!
I do also use FF RefControl so I block sending the referrer (although some still do ask for it so I only unblock for those when needed), wonder if that actually works?

Do you think email addresses could get black listed?

Should I get a new one? And should I give the word COMP a miss ?

I have a general e mail addresses that i use on different sites that includes the word comp and some that are specific to individual magazines, it helps me track where the spam comes from.

I dont think it makes any difference what is contained within your e mail address as its all automated anyway. Most of my wins come from the general comp e mail.

Having recently become addicted(!) to Twitter, I have seen many local and national firms use that as a meas to promote their wares, by means of 2for1's, free tasters, and competitions.

SO far I have won a 3 day entry to Whiteair ('extreme sporty thing), and just today got an email saying I had won a pair of tix to the Brighton Comedy Festival opening night!

Some are quite last minute things, so you need to stay alert and get in quick!

Have received an email today to ask for parental permission in order to send my prize for the britchicks VIP competition, so anyone who kindly used my daughters cards should be hearing from them soon, oh and when she gave the other cards to her friends, they had stopped being winning cards! Oh well, well done to all of you who had one and won!
