Yep totally agree with you on this one, I very rarely venture to the IWIWIW forum as when I do, and see winners are winning without thanking the op...it realllly wind me up, and inevitably I usually cant keep me trap shut!!!:o :rotfl:

But on the other hand there are many people who do post to say thanks in the IWIWIW forum that do mention the OP, so i tend to search my user name a couple of times a week to see if anyone has thanked me. Then i just go into that post and press their thanks and put a small coment like "well done".

At least i've acknowledged their thanks and then i feel great.:A:rotfl:

I realise this is going to possibly sound ungrateful or petty but is anyone else finding that people in the IWIWIW are thanking people for posts that they have won from and when you look at the post they have won from they havent even thanked that post. In some cases they just say 'thanks to whoever posted' and hasnt even tried to find the post/poster. Anyway thats my moan over for the day:D
Lol! Just read a post in the IWIWIW thread and have this exact same 'gripe'! I am refraining from posting as it would seem 'off' and it's nice when MSE'ers win but if you join this month with only a couple of post counts and have been entering for quite a while then surely you should join and thank when you start not when you win something major? They have named the poster but not thanked them when entering. That's why I just PM the OP's now to say a private thanks. For something big I'd probably post over there but for things like DVD's I keep them private.

Anyways, it's all cool. I'm just a busybody with a lot of 'gripes'!! :rotfl:
Thank you to everyone who posts comps! :A

One person in particular will always comment on the magazine comps days after they have been posted, I get so wound up by her as it means opening the thread to check if I've done it or not when it suddenly reappears........and breathe

LOL! This thread is really making me feel part of the group now! :rotfl: I know (I think!) who you mean and yep, I have refrained from commenting but then I would be bumping the thread and that would be no good at all!

    Posting rules weeks after the comp was posted   10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4........:o
Have to say I am guilty of that and profusely apoligise Al Mac and everyone else.:o I try not to post too far after the OP has been posted but as a winner of a previous 'short break' competition I do find the T&C's relevant sometimes and only post them if they have dates/hotel/flight details etc.... In fact I wish people who post hol comps would do the T&C's at the same time (the odd few do :A) as there is so much information in them that could disappear.

just realised I'ved double posted - sorry!
Thank you to everyone who posts comps! :A

Contenders for Grumpy Old Women/Men the lot of us. :p How old do you think you have to be before you can say what you think and people let you get away with it because of your age?

I try to always click the thanks button not only to say thank you for posting but also to keep track of the comps I have entered as I have a terrible memory. I even got mixed up when they changed the positions and ended up entering some comps more than once.

I always try to find the original poster but can't always find it. I posted a comp earlier and searched several different ways and couldn't find it but it turned out to be a group one and the first person to post the comp from a different newspaper had in fact put links in her post for the different newspapers.

It sometimes puts me off posting in case someone gets a bit abrupt etc.

I know what you mean about the mag comps as I have had to open several to see if I have already entered or not. Bit annoying especially if I am pushed for time.
If at first you don't succeed try, try, try again.
