yeah agree, prozac wont help, what is the trigger for the panic attacks? is it just going away, new places etc, the unknown?

have got a couple of websites that helped me, some info here: http://www.nomorepanic.co.uk/NMPcms.php?nmppage=panicattack

can give you links etc the main thing with panic attacks is you need to find the cause and work through that, yes you can treat in the short term but to be free from them, you need to work out why they are happening and try self help, tablets are really not the answer in the longterm, pm anytime if you need a chat, mine were really bad, got to a point where i wouldnt go out as i didnt want to trigger another attack

The trigger for me is really fear of the unknown and feeling trapped. I have sailed before but not for years and I have managed to convince myself that one of the following will happen:
    a. I'm going to collapse on the ship
    b. The ship will sink
Stupid I know but it is amazing the amount of rubbish the nervous mind will come up with!
I've suffered with panic on and off since I was 15 and TBH this is only moderate to me. Eight years ago I had a really bad patch when I couldn't leave the house at all. I was trapped at home for nearly a whole year . On the flip side I've had really good patches too, I even managed a flight a couple of years ago :T.
I seem to be at my worst when I have small children to look after. I think the constant stress of having to be there and watch them constantly triggers something in me.
I've been on numerous sites the past few days. That nomorepanic site looks like it has a really good forum so I may sign up. Thanks xx

    Chyna-s:
Yep, i've tried those many times but they don't work for me. I know a lot of people find them useful though. Thanks for the suggestion

That's great, thanks. I will check them out later on (suppose I better throw some food at the kids at some point this morning:rotfl:) .
Isn't it amazing how many people suffer from this yet it's not something that is given much coverage in the media. Also, most sufferers appear to be female. I know men that suffer from panic too but the vast majority seem to be female. Is there a hormonal element to it perhaps?

morning all. what a day yesterday, i was all happy as i now have a week off work yyiippee, went to pick up little miss divadee (whos 11) from school and she came out really upset. I asked what was wrong and basically some boy pushed her to the ground by grabbing her neck and kicked her hard in the stomach 3 times, the back 4 times and the shoulder 4 times.

I was on the way home already in the car when the full story came out, so couldnt go straight back in. What worried me more was that little miss divadee was more worried about being told off in school as when he pushed her to the ground she landed on his arm and he went off to hospital afterwards as they thought he might of fractured it ( i hate to say but in a way good he needs to know about actions and consequences).

The story I have got (and had it confirmed by 2 witnesses) is they were playing a game together about 5 of them. Boy A (the one who kicked her) just came up behind DD grabbed her round the neck she fell to the floor and whilst doing so landed on his arm, he got angry as she hurt him and proceeded to kick nine shades out of her.

The only slight problem I have in all this, is that Boy A is autistic, he is a highly intelligent autistic and the only trait he has is anger issues and ADHD. Mr divadee is absolutely livid, and he is saying that it doesnt matter if he has special needs or not, it still shouldnt of happened. If he has anger issues then he should be appropriately supervised (which i do agree with). The teachers have done nothing about this at all. I wasnt called in about the incident, The only time i found out was when DD came out of school as normal!!

She has bruising all on her stomach, arms and legs. Her shoulder is causing her pain (but just bruising i think no broken bones).

I am going to write to the school, but feel it may get overlooked slightly as Boy A has special needs. The school have said in the past to a friend of mine with a simlar incident (different boy) that he didnt mean it, and wouldnt of known he had done wrong etc.. but in my mind thats not a good enough answer. I also found out last night that his mum takes him kick boxing to try and help him release his anger!!!!! My god to me that just smacks of giving an angry person the tools to hurt someone!!

what would you guys do. Please dont think I am being horrible about children with special needs, Im not, but I feel that especially if they have anger issues they need to be properly supervised almost 1 on 1 attention. so this doesnt happen again.

What would you guys do and how far would you take it?

    Diva

Firstly hope your little girl is ok and I can understand how you must be feeling this morning as I would be livid also.
This cannot happen to another child and I would be in the school first thing Monday morning expressing this and demanding that they get the boys parents in and if they didnt do anything about it I would be involving ths police( yes I know this may sound extreme to some but this is nothing more than common assualt )
Take pictures if you can of the bruising so you can show head teacher etc.
Actually the more I think about it I would be on to education department also and want him taken out of the school.
I do understand he has learning difficulties but what he did was inexcusable and taking a kid with anger problems to kick boxing !!!!!!.

edited to say re read again and tbh I think I would call the police and ask for there advise on the matter as no harm in them taking note of incident and it neednt be taken any further if you dont want it to.
As sounds like this boy was really getting torn into your daughter
Just back into comping past few months to help me get over rubbish in life.... won Hotpoint fridge freezer, soda stream

It is absolutely unacceptable for your child to come home injured because of the actions of another. It makes no difference whether or not he has issues. My own son has mild autism and I would be furious if he hurt another child, disorder or not. He has to learn to fit in with the class and not the other way round.

I really think you should have a strong word with the teacher or even the head if you don't get anywhere because obviously it would be awful if this was to happen again to another child.
