Morning all, exciting morning here as we're going to pick up the new member of our family. We're 99% sure he is going to be called Cooper or Coops for short after Henry Cooper, he is a boxer after all ;)

Played Boom Blox on the Wii last night, it's a great game but my right arm won't do what it's told now, it's a very weird feeling. Really should get more exercise LOL.

Hope everyone has a lucky lucky day, see you all on the other side.

    Morning all.
Trying to psych myself up for journey to France tomorrow.
Went to doctors yesterday to ask for some diazepam to help me with the ferry part of the journey but he didn't give me any , he said that because my panic attacks are long term then it would just be too much of a 'quick fix' and he sent me away with a prescription for Prozac instead .
Well that's fine but now I don't know how I'm going to get myself on the ferry.
If anyone has any good advice then please let me know. I'm absolutely bricking it. My poor OH has had me in tears on him almost constantly over the past couple of days.
    Stupid panic attacks
Thanks to everyone who posts comps, I love winning prizes big and small

well prozac wont help, had that and never helped me, diazepam would be ideal solution for that, is there no way to see another dr and explain? if you cant have that get some lavender oil and inhale it, it works on calming you down, i used to be doused up on the stuff often, does help, do breathing exercises etc

I won't be able to get another appointment now because my doctors is not open today. The thing is that I know that I have a problem with panic but it doesn't usually affect my day to day life all that much because I don't work and I do pretty much the same things all the time so I don't think I'd really benefit all that much from taking anti-depressants. I think the cons would outweigh the pros. All I really wanted was something just to help me through the journey :(
I'm going into town to get some euros later so I will definitely buy some Lavender Oil. Thanks :A

yeah agree, prozac wont help, what is the trigger for the panic attacks? is it just going away, new places etc, the unknown?

have got a couple of websites that helped me, some info here: http://www.nomorepanic.co.uk/NMPcms.php?nmppage=panicattack

can give you links etc the main thing with panic attacks is you need to find the cause and work through that, yes you can treat in the short term but to be free from them, you need to work out why they are happening and try self help, tablets are really not the answer in the longterm, pm anytime if you need a chat, mine were really bad, got to a point where i wouldnt go out as i didnt want to trigger another attack
