YesVery happy with A+L. I think the referral scheme is very generous and the interest rate excellent.
The faffing around with the online banking recently was a bit irritating but it's only a minor complaint.

AverageCurrent account suffers from limitations which do not so far affect other banks like:
can only draw £250 per day (should be £500)
transfers between all their accounts are not instant (except current and nominated savings account)
needing to allow a day for payments to leave (payments should be taken without delay)
Also, I am not a fan of their resort to limited edition savings accounts (Online Saver 'Issue 1', 'Issue2' etc). If they bring out a 'good' account they should keep it. If nothing else it simply keeps the customers guessing so that they can't settle down to a stable relationship.
I like the 'new look' online banking - parts of which they seem to have borrowed from Nationwide. However making it look different has not made it do any more and remains as limited as before:
No 'address book' - a directory facility to look up many of the commonly used collection accounts - saving you the need to enter these yourself.
Only able to go back 7 months on statements - as is the case with credit card online services - it should be at least a year or longer for your current account. Compare to Nationwide, which is a 'dream' to use on FlexAccount when looking for a whole year's direct debits or even compiling a whole-of-year statement - that's the way to go.
(Can statements be downloaded from A&L? - I'm not sure if they can).....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0 -

Yes they can but they are screwed up at the moment.Milarky wrote:(Can statements be downloaded from A&L? - I'm not sure if they can)
At the bottom of the statement there is a download button. But when I download to microsoft money, everything is 100x more than it should be.0 -

AverageHappy with most of it.
Not happy with how long it takes my internet transactions to move to and from it.
Not happy with not being able to see a list of who I can send payments to until I've entered an amount to pay.
Happy with the 5% interest, but did I just read earlier that it's due to end?? hmm...only a temporary 5%? I must have missed that bit.
debt free...yippee :dance:0 -
AverageHad been with A&L for about 12 years. I never had any problems with them, even when I've upgraded acounts. Trouble is, they only seem to be interested in new customers. When their special offers end, their rates become pretty average!Lightbulb moment: May 2006

However I have just signed back up for a Premier Direct account.. but I don't plan to do anything but credit £500 and take it back out again!!!! I really HATE this bank!!!Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 092

YesNo problems with A&L at all here, slight issues with DD's when the account was transferred but all was sorted out promptly over the phone.0
